an observation about south african society is how deeply some people still associate whiteness w competence and institutional credibility. thereโs an assumption that if a white person is behind a company, an organisation or an idea, it must automatically be more efficient or more likely to succeed. i think this also helps explain the persistence of apartheid nostalgia and historical revisionism.
