This person was a no voter. This person took issue with me using my own language (a language they didn’t speak) for an issue very close to my heart. My choice to use my own language is no one else’s concern (a bit like my choice about my own body is no one else’s concern)

We were approached while canvassing today and told we should not be using the Irish language to promote a yes vote. I replied in Irish, presuming the person in question was a speaker from what they had been saying and it then transpired that she didn’t speak Irish.
