some thoughts on my first solana event after ~4 years of actively attending the usual side events/confs like token, ethcc, consensus, etc all i can say is that the vibes are very different in the sol ecosystem. feels way more social and fun than what i’m used to. not a big fan of just taking pictures and collecting merch, but when in rome… what’s your x > let’s exchange tg will need to visit more solana conferences to get the full picture, but main takeaway is people are friendlier here. at least i haven’t seen my favorite types of “are you a kol?” uncs or dudes running around with their tier-30 audit company for 40 sec chat straight before exchanging tg “in case you need some audits some time in the future.” plus it’s @JupiterExchange, not a general solana conference, so makes sense to host it in a more social way for retail, users and community, not for bds exchanging contact info lol checked the side event list as usual, but only found the @MonkeDAO and @pudgypenguins @PudgyAsia ones, and im pretty happy about it monkedao first thing i did as prep was buying a monke for myself. the event was awesome, big thanks to @eggiekate @W_Han_01 @supersimon77 for hosting. very pleasant experience where it was way easier to find genuine connections since you already have topics to start the conversation with (what’s your monke hehe). very happy to meet @kitonbill @CryptoBusher @sableftw @hogriderrr @arifkazi_ there. pudgy penguins pudgies had crazy exposure out there. providing the opportunity to attend the g-dragon concert for the community would be enough on its own, no need to say more. probably one of the rare examples of real community in crypto, since most of the time when your token is down no one cares anymore. not just posting that “community is the most important asset” but literally proving it and providing crazy experiences to members, not just holders. been knowing and respecting the team for a long time, but never been to any pudgy events since conferences were straight business for me, so thanks to pengu will probably try to touch grass from time to time during such trips. big thanks to @AaronTeng @FoxyPenguinApe @justthur_ @thisistheshawn @Symphony_Young @divinefallacy @jyp_nft special shout out to @swiftie_hp @xTheCakeIsALie for introducing me to maggi goreng, eating it for the second day in a row while in singapore and will suffer without it back in korea. jupiter the main event had crazy production, congrats to the catlumpurr team on pulling it off @awesomesinyee @0xTonilicious @RayOng925 @benliew @eleesatt @agaltsow @ALLEYCATNY (and to the whole jupiter team ofc) the announcements were solid, not gonna share the list, that’s what everyone did right from the venue anyways. @wassielawyer narrative of jupiter as a nation is pretty interesting, gl with fighting $jup fudders on tl btw. and well, huge parafi buy in is crazy ofc. as always, looking forward to the next dtf launch. pretty hyped about the new prediction market improvements, including polymarket integration and new trading tools (tg bots etc). overall, was great to meet new people and have some new experience. see you at the next one.
