As recently as 20 years ago, only 83 % of primary school age kids were actually attending school. Learning outcomes were also poor. A significant % of kids had to drop out of *primary school* for financial reasons
When I was in 1st standard (grade) in Mumbai (1998), the attendance rate was even lower.
Young kids not being in school was so normalized that my private school had informal employees (teacher's assistants) who had kids my age (7) tagging along in the school assisting them with their jobs.
Basically, schooling was a “scarce” resource in India. There was no expectation that every child would be schooled

Good article about how China has gone massively into debt and kicked millions of people off their property to build pointless bridges and underused airports and high-speed trains so that gullible people on websites like this one think communism is cool.

Nov 2022 central banks were buying gold aggressively while retail investors were dumping ETFs & nobody cared about gold! 😏
Jan 2026 story had flipped, everyone was chasing it & 24K cr poured into gold ETFs right at the peak => That was the trend reversal signal! 👀
Today gold has fallen from $5600 to ~$3900, nearly 30% down & fresh 52wk low 😐

They should make a reality TV show where a condescending old school Oxford educated @INCIndia politician used to courting impoverished, illiterate villagers (image one) for votes wakes up from a 28 year coma and tries the exact same rhetoric and tactics in the same exact village … except the voters are now educated, live in concrete homes, and have piped water (images 2 and 3).
Would be an interesting crashout

China is interesting
1. Their housing is privately built
2. They don't tolerate welfarism
3. They don't tolerate NIMBYs
4. They don't tolerate worker movements
5. They don't tolerate criticism against the state
6. They don't tolerate solidarity protests
Yet leftists love them.
Nobody is free from conspiracy theories.
My biggest concern is that if there is a clean sweep by Democrats of the House, Senate and Presidency in 2028, they will:
1. Make DC and Puerto Rico states to gain a strong majority in the Senate.
2. Open the borders and legalize everyone living in America illegally to cement a permanent majority.
3. Increase the size of the Supreme Court to gain an immediate majority.
This would result in America becoming a permanent one-party state and the end of democracy in any meaningful sense of the word.
All that is needed to ensure this doesn’t happen is 51 Republican senators in 2029. That is why you should vote for Republican senators this election. Other reasons are irrelevant compared to this one.
