I never want to see MAGA lecture anyone about political violence ever again while their guy is demanding that Democrats be put to death.

Earlier this year, Minnesota Speaker Melissa Hortman was murdered at gunpoint in an act of targeted political violence.
We must never forget the horrifying consequences of unchecked, violent rhetoric.

Under Dr. Oz, Medicare is launching a pilot program that will use AI to determine whether patients would be covered for certain procedures.
Companies running the program will be paid a share of the savings from rejecting claims.
Who in their right mind voted for this? No one.

During Sunday's storm our Emergency Command Center (ECC) dispatched 391 incidents. Among that call load was 203 reports of powerlines down and 143 for trees that had fallen down.
For comparison to a normal call volume, in 2023 our ECC averaged 68 incident dispatches per day.

Yes the ground is moving. This is a prime example of why we residents to survey areas around homes during breaks in rain/wind, or in between storms to look for signs of weakened trees that could fall as a result of a strong gust of wind.
Contact a tree service company for help.

Brilliant at birth and amazing what dedicated training can then achieve. Wow!! Well done. One of the most chosen dog breeds for K-9 units for a reason.

As you contemplate going home for the holidays, especially if you have any vocal MAGA relations, remember this coping strategy: Hear everything they say for what it is: from a brainwashed cult of millions who have been misled and manipulated. Do not attempt to deprogram, or you become just another enemy. Listen with patience, and try to find common things you both enjoy to talk about. Remind them of your humanity, and do things that let them remind you of theirs. That is how love ultimately prevails.

You learn very quickly that there is no handbook or rules to being First Lady. Technically, it’s not even an official position. And while there are spoken and unspoken expectations that provide some structure, the role is largely shaped by the passions and aspirations of the person holding it.
First Lady Rosalynn Carter understood that well.
Guided by her abiding faith and her commitment to service, Mrs. Carter used her platform in profoundly meaningful ways. Her groundbreaking work to combat the stigma faced by those struggling with their mental health brought light to so many suffering in silence. She advocated for better care for the elderly. She advanced women’s rights. And she remained a champion for those causes — and many others like building affordable housing for those in need and caring for our nation’s caregivers — in the more than four decades that followed.
When our family was in the White House, every so often, Rosalynn would join me for lunch, offering a few words of advice and always — always — a helping hand. She reminded me to make the role of First Lady my own, just like she did. I’ll always remain grateful for her support and her generosity.
Today, Barack and I join the world in celebrating the remarkable legacy of a First Lady, philanthropist, and advocate who dedicated her life to lifting up others. Her life is a reminder that no matter who we are, our legacies are best measured not in awards or accolades, but in the lives we touch. We send our thoughts and prayers to Jimmy and the entire Carter family during this difficult time.

In a shocking turn of events, Hurricane #Otis in the Eastern Pacific has unexpectedly, explosively intensified from a tropical storm to a Category 4 hurricane in just 12 hours.
Even worse, the storm is expected to make a catastrophic landfall tonight as a Category 5 hurricane near Acapulco, Mexico, home to 1 million people.
Only 18 hours ago, people were expecting a tropical storm at landfall, and now a devastating Category 5 storm is likely.
This is pretty much a worst-case scenario, as residents have little time to find a safe shelter and protect life and property from this life-threatening storm.
A major hurricane (Category 3+) has never made landfall within 50 miles of Acapulco, let alone a Category 5 hurricane.
Otis could become the first Eastern Pacific hurricane ever recorded to make landfall as a Category 5 in Mexico.
Anyone in or near Acapulco should rush storm preparations to completion as their is little time left to shelter from #Otis.
