#RIPJesusDeMiguel #CDTenerife #fcandorra #Jesusowono

🚨 Somalia’s UN Amb. Abukar Dahir Osman 🇸🇴 who voted against Morocco in the UNSC is reportedly linked to Progressive Health Care Services, a Cincinnati home health agency that pleaded guilty to Medicaid fraud in 2021 and was ordered to pay $93,933.14 in restitution. Records list Osman as the company’s “President & CEO” in 2009 and “Managing Director” from 2014 to May 2019 overlapping his UN posting. Former HHS Deputy Secretary Jim O’Neill confirmed the association on X, saying HHS had “previously taken action against Progressive in response to a conviction for Medicaid fraud.” Before diplomacy, Osman reportedly worked as a supervisor in the Franklin County Adult Medicaid Unit (2007–2012), and state records reportedly show he remains prohibited from certain roles with Medicaid providers in Ohio. Bad vote. Worse record. #UN #Somalia #Morocco #Somaliland

AN HISTORIC APPEAL TO HIS MAJESTY KING MOHAMMED VI AND THE KINGDOM OF MOROCCO @MarocDiplomatie @Marocdiplo_EN @MarocDiplo_AR @DiplomaciaM @MoroccoInKEN @MoroccoInETH MOROCCO SHOULD RECOGNISE THE REPUBLIC OF SOMALILAND. 1/ SOMALILAND WAS ALREADY AN INDEPENDENT COUNTRY IN 1960. On 26 June 1960, the State of Somaliland gained independence from Britain, becoming a sovereign state five days before the former Italian-administered Somalia gained independence on 1 July 1960. Somaliland had its own government and international identity before entering into the proposed union. It was not simply a region seeking independence in 1991. It had already experienced independence as a separate state. 2/ 35 COUNTRIES RECOGNISED SOMALILAND IN 1960. Historical accounts report that approximately 35 countries recognised the State of Somaliland during its brief independence. These included Israel, Ethiopia, Egypt, France, China, Ghana, Libya and the Soviet Union. The United States also sent an official congratulatory message to Somaliland's government, although it did not formally extend diplomatic recognition. This history deserves international attention. 3/ THE 1960 UNION HAD SERIOUS LEGAL DEFECTS. The two territories adopted different Acts of Union, which were not properly harmonised when the union was initially proclaimed. A subsequent Act was passed retrospectively in January 1961. The failure to establish a single, properly executed and mutually ratified legal instrument at the moment of union raises serious constitutional and historical questions about its foundation. 4/ THE PEOPLE OF SOMALILAND DID NOT OVERWHELMINGLY APPROVE THE UNION. The 1961 constitutional referendum faced substantial opposition in the north. Official referendum figures recorded a majority voting against the proposed constitution in the northern regions, demonstrating that the union did not enjoy unanimous popular support. 5/ THE UNION WAS MAINTAINED THROUGH MILITARY FORCE AND REPRESSION. Under Somalia military regime, Somaliland experienced systematic persecution, mass killings and the destruction of Hargeisa and other northern cities during the 1980s. The atrocities committed against Somaliland's population remain an important part of its historical experience. In May 1991, Somaliland restored its independence within the boundaries of the former British Somaliland. 6/ THE AFRICAN UNION ITSELF EXAMINED SOMALILAND'S CASE. In 2004, the African Union Commission engaged with Somaliland delegations and acknowledged its progress in social, economic and security development. In 2005, an African Union fact-finding mission visited Somaliland to examine its historical and political circumstances. The mission's reported findings described Somaliland as a unique case deserving objective historical and moral consideration. This is particularly important because Somaliland's case was examined by an African continental institution. Africa should not overlook its own institutions' previous engagement with this matter. 7/ SOMALILAND HAS BUILT ITS OWN INSTITUTIONS. For more than three decades, Somaliland has maintained its own government, parliament, constitution, currency, security institutions and electoral processes. It has developed its own political system and held multiple elections and peaceful transfers of power. Its people have demonstrated a sustained commitment to governing themselves. 8/ ISRAEL HAS FORMALLY RECOGNISED SOMALILAND. On 26 December 2025, Israel formally recognised the Republic of Somaliland as an independent and sovereign state. This has opened a new chapter in the international debate. Other countries should independently examine Somaliland's historical, legal, political and strategic case.
