When Doug Ford attacks teachers, students, and people for being “lazy”, just remember, this is how much he had MPPs sit this year at the legislature. #onpoli

Anyone who approves doesn't care about kids. Because he has cut $6.5 billion so far - increasing class sizes, eliminating thousands of teachers and support staff.

PRITZKER: We should not fear immigrants and people of color and women. We should not fear the LGBTQ community. We should not fear the beardos and the weirdos. And we should not fear the Canadians. We should not fear the strange, wonderful mix of diverse opinions and backgrounds and ethnicities that make our communities rich, our food good, our culture strong, our work ethic durable, and our country so uniquely American.

The fact that we still have nuclear weapons tells me people don’t understand them. When I was at Uni, we studied descriptions from survivors of the atomic blasts at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I thought it would be like learning about any other harrowing history. I was very wrong. It disturbed me in my bones and never left me. When the atomic bombs detonated in Japan, some of these survivors literally thought it was an alien invasion. This was because the flash was so blinding bright and silent, they had never imagined anything like it before. There was also no noise for those close to the blast. The shockwave hit their ears at the same time as the sound, sending them flying and shattering everything in its wake. This became known as the Pika-Don. For those further away from the detonation, the sound following the flash was deafening beyond description. It was described as an impossible crack, as if the sky had snapped open. This was trailed by a terrifying deep roar that screamed outwards. It was considered one of the loudest events in human history. Then there was the thermal heat wave. It was so hot it vaporised people in the open instantly and other peoples clothes melted into their skin. Many were burned beyond belief and just stood there screaming or silent, as the sky turned black from the dust, ash and debris. Wild firestorms spread throughout the city, as people searched in darkness for their families and friends. But the worst was yet to come. Those that died in the blast were the lucky ones. Over the coming days and weeks, people’s hair fell out. Without explanation those that had incredibly survived, started to confusingly fall ill and perish over time. I don’t want to describe the side effects of the radiation sickness, but it made me cry reading about it. The hopelessness, suffering and courage of the people that succumbed to this, should be mandatory reading for everyone, to understand the true power of nuclear weapons. “I know not with what weapons World War Three will be fought, but World War Four will be fought with sticks and stones” - Albert Einstein

#ONpoli Hey Ontario - do you approve of paying for Stan Cho’s hotels because he didn’t want to take a 10 minute ride back to his house to be with his wife and kid?

So the Ford "Conservatives" have been total spend thrifts. So much so, that the third highest expense is now interest on our debt! Let's be clear - this isn't because of teachers, or nurses. This is because of Ford's poor choices ie. billions in bribe cheques! #onpoli #onted

How many Ontario teachers were able to charge $22k to tax payers and sleep at a luxury hotel 6km from their homes because they wanted to help their wife with "sleep training"? This is truly absurd! @StanChoMPP is a symbol for all that is wrong and corrupt with this govt. #onpoli

$117 million would cover the cost of employment of 1695 educational assistants for your kids' schools. You got ads telling you how good things are in Ontario instead. #onted #onpoli #cutshurtkids
NEW: The Ford government has broken its own record for ad spending. Internal documents show its advertising bill climbed to more than $117 million last year, according to internal documents — the highest total in a single year in Ontario’s history. A breakdown of how the money was spent in this story by me and @CharliePinkerto: thetrillium.ca/news/governme…

🚨WTF: Trump’s FBI just RAIDED the DC apartment of Rep. Ilhan Omar as “part of an ongoing criminal investigation” relating to immigration papers she filled out THREE DECADES ago. This is PURE banana republic shit and should send chills down EVERY American’s spine - especially after Trump’s racist attacks on Somalis.

“Schitt’s Creek” star Dan Levy is calling out Shane Gillis' #SNL monologue. "I’m speechless that something like that can exist on live national television. And to be perfectly honest, more men need to be standing up in opposition to it because it’s complacency that has created the environment in which women are sexually assaulted and it’s a ‘conversation’ as opposed to a ‘crime.'" variety.com/2026/tv/news/dan…

The Line Has Been Crossed. Act Like It. For ten years Europe has treated Trump's affection for Moscow as a personality quirk, something to be managed with flattery, state dinners and a larger order for American jets. That era of polite self-deception is over. A president who funds the aggressor and starves the victim has answered the question of whose side he is on, and anyone still waiting for more evidence is not being cautious but is simply afraid of the conclusion. Ukraine must plan as though American support is gone and American pressure is coming. Any deal drafted in Washington should be read as a deal drafted in Moscow, and Kyiv has every right to refuse a peace designed by two men who want it to lose. Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand should take no comfort in distance. A president who trades away Ukraine for cheaper diesel will trade away Taiwan for less, and their security guarantees are worth exactly what his word is worth. The democracies of the Pacific and the Atlantic need to bind themselves to each other directly, in arms, intelligence and trade, with Washington outside the room. The playbook already exists, because we wrote it for Russia: reduce exposure, close dependencies, sanction the enablers, and wait for better leadership while preparing for it never to arrive. America may return to us one day. Until then, we treat Trump's United States as what it has chosen to be.

Every day JD Vance wakes up and says I’m gonna make the world less safe for my brown-skinned kids, my brown-skinned wife, and my immigrant in-laws. In awarding this year’s #NobelPeacePrize, the Norwegian Nobel Committee wants to remind the world that the rule of law – national and international – underpins the system we have set up to ensure peace and resolve conflicts non-violently. Peace requires justice. History has shown that a world operating without the rule of law is unjust, unwise and inhumane. The judges – those who guard the thin red line between order and chaos – are therefore highly deserving of our praise. But today, as these same judges are sanctioned, and their institutions are attacked, we need people of courage, vision and determination – qualities that 2026 peace laureate Navi Pillay demonstrates in her work on the bench. #NobelPrize

According to Ontario's Financial Accountability Office, Doug Ford's plan to put alcohol sales into stores cost taxpayers $612 million for the early rollout alone, and up to $1.4 billion in total by 2030!! $47M for health care! Let that sink in!
Our government is fighting to cut emergency room wait times so people can get the emergency care they need faster. Today, Ontario launched our Emergency Department Action Team with a $47 million investment and a mandate to identify and tackle common delays, improve patient flow and apply these lessons to lower wait times across the province. Toronto Life just published a deep dive into what’s happening inside the TDSB under provincial supervision. The Ford government says the problem is overspending. But as Toronto Life reports, “most experts argue that the TDSB actually suffers from chronic underfunding.” And what has provincial supervision delivered? ✂️ Hundreds of administrative, teaching and support positions cut. 🚫 Cafeterias and outdoor education programs closed. ❌ Dedicated classes for students with special needs eliminated. Toronto Life describes the province’s approach as a “DOGE-style slash and burn.” This is one school board, but the story will sound familiar to teachers, education workers, students, and families across Ontario: fewer staff, fewer supports and fewer resources in schools already being asked to do more with less. Check out the full article at Toronto Life: bit.ly/4hn5cw0 We’ll be sharing more from this important investigation. #OSSTF #OntEd #OnPoli
