If this Government had maintained the 2-1 public/active transport… Darragh O’Brien would be announcing an extra €100m today for new buses, trains and cycle tracks
But no…. Today the Country just gets €50m extra for roads
I’m delighted to announce a massive €713 million investment to protect, renew, and enhance regional and local roads across the country.
This was a core commitment from @fiannafailparty in the general election, and I’m proud to be delivering on it already.

It’s disconcerting to see statements like “There won’t be as many cycle lanes built, that’s for sure” ... “It’ll be about big picture stuff now.”
Cycle lanes are the big picture if we want to cut emissions, avoid climate fines, and improve public health.
