in sex lives of college girls s1 there’s a whole mystery about the dorm smelling and everyone immediately blaming bela, the indian main character. it’s revealed that it was the fridge, but everyone’s immediate assumption is that it’s bela’s fault.

someone ai generating a girl to be nikki to mock jane doe proves to me that obsession isn’t nearly as harsh about rape as it should’ve been and no amount of ppl saying “the misogyny is the point” will undo how barker’s film is now culpable in continuing rape culture.

a big reason i now despise that movie after initially enjoying it (w/ reservations) is the deranged stans that flip at any critique, esp re: misogyny. compare the gratuitous & sexualized brutality nikki and sarah suffer to ian’s blink-and-you-miss-it kill shot. it’s blatant.
Seems like it's more about what kind of social order produces personalities inclined to deputize themselves to go around "destroying" other people. "Pedo hunting" is at its core about finding entertainment value in sexual abuse, it's worth considering what attracts people to it.
