I guess everyone's talking about the Star Wars prequels, so I'm gonna weigh in...
What the original Star Wars trilogy did, which no one else had done before and few have done since, is they gave us "dirty" sci-fi. They made outer space actually look "lived in." It was not pristine, it was gritty. The films were centered around story and drama, but had action.
Yes, we like all the groundbreaking special effects, but if you replaced all the aliens and space ships with horses and airplanes and cowboys or whatever, they would have still been good films.
Then the prequels came along and everything was crisp CGI and special effects and over-the-top action. They lacked the grit and the drama and the depth of each moment in their stories. If you took away the special effects, you would have no film.
Sure, the prequels were fine films for what they were, but they were drastically inferior to the original trilogy. I feel like the final three made a strong attempt to get back to the original character.
As an American, all your life you've had the luxury of debating ideas you disagreed with. But a time of violence may be approaching, and your enemy will use debate to cause you not to act. Your life may depend on your ability to act instead of argue.
There seem to be a lot of users on 𝕏 who are convinced anything that makes them uncomfortable can somehow be traced back to "orange man bad" and/or Netanyahu, to the point where they can't participate in normal discourse even on topics unrelated to politics at all.
And they all manage to find my comments and reply to them.

I live in a small town. A really small town. We don’t even have a major grocery store. Just a mom and pop one. It’s the kind of town that by 8 pm everything is closed and nothing but the gas stations and the pharmacy are open on Sunday and Monday.
During the Biden admin we were over run by immigrants. They were put in housing, given cash, free health care, there were “groups” of teens walking the streets at night and our schools were over run. They were also the rudest people I’ve ever run into.
They are gone. There are houses for rent again, the one apt place we have has openings, our schools are functioning again, there’s no groups of people roaming our streets during the night….its back to being a small town.
I do not want them back. I will be forever grateful to Trump for getting them out.
