I can't believe how fast time flies! It's already been two months since FSD was approved in Slovenia on September 7. Since then, I've driven almost 7000 km with FSD engaged, on practically every type of road and in almost every kind of driving condition!
After two months of extensive real-world testing, I can honestly say that FSD is probably the single most impressive piece of technology I've ever experienced! Even with high expectations, I've been genuinely amazed by how naturally and confidently it handles everyday driving, including some of Slovenia's most challenging roads. Perhaps most remarkably, I've driven almost 7000 km without a single safety-critical intervention, which has given me great confidence in the system's safety.
Of course, FSD isn't perfect yet. Speed-limit recognition still needs improvement, and the driving style can sometimes be unnecessarily cautious, particularly under the current European restrictions. Navigation and parking could also be better. But these shortcomings don't change just how impressive the overall experience has been, especially considering we're still running the very first FSD version released here in September. I hope that regulations will no longer hold back the system's performance, but instead allow it to improve with every update. The EU needs to embrace new technologies, not lag behind!
These two months have given me a much clearer picture of the potential of autonomous driving. I genuinely believe this technology has a very promising future and could make driving safer, more comfortable, and more accessible for many people. There's still plenty of progress to be made, but I'm excited to see how it develops!
Finally, a big thank you to the Slovenian authorities for recognising the Dutch approval so quickly and making Slovenia one of the first European countries to experience FSD. And, of course, a huge thank you to Tesla’s engineers for all the incredible work they’ve put into developing this technology! 🚀

I grew up driving to Yugoslavia in our VW Beetle to collect Radenska mineral water straight from the source in Radenci. In the 90s, we came for cheap fuel (and cigarettes for my smoking friends 😂).

Today, an amendment to Slovenia’s road traffic law officially came into force, modernising outdated regulations that were not designed for automated driving technologies and now explicitly allowing hands-free driving with approved systems like Tesla FSD (Supervised)/TAD, while drivers remain responsible for safety.
And Slovenia isn’t stopping there – the ministry has already announced plans for further legislation to pave the way for fully autonomous vehicles, including robotaxis, on Slovenian roads. Exciting times ahead!

Tesla's Cybercab just got a regulatory tailwind
NHTSA proposed changes to the federal vehicle lighting standard for driverless cars
Vehicles with no manual controls would no longer need physical hazard switches, beam shifters or turn signal levers
It also sets a standard for optional cyan exterior lights that show when the self-driving system is in control
The proposal publishes in the Federal Register on Oct 26, as part of DOT's push to make cars without steering wheels or pedals easier to build and sell
Cybercab of course has no steering wheel, no pedals and no mirrors
NHTSA did open an audit query last month into how Cybercab was certified, but the rules are now being rewritten around EXACTLY the kind of vehicle Tesla is building

Personne. Et c'est exactement pour ça que c'est important.
En 1978, Brabham a aligné en Formule 1 une voiture équipée d'un ventilateur géant à l'arrière. Il aspirait l'air sous le châssis et plaquait la voiture au sol. Elle a gagné sa première course avec une avance insolente. Elle a été interdite immédiatement.
Quarante-huit ans plus tard, on y revient. Un système de succion qui colle la voiture à la route et lui permet de passer sous la seconde au 0 à 100.
Personne n'a « besoin » de faire le 0 à 100 en moins d'une seconde. Comme personne n'a besoin d'une Formule 1. Et pourtant : les freins carbone de votre berline, l'hybridation de votre moteur, l'aérodynamique de votre SUV, les palettes au volant — tout ça vient de voitures de course que personne n'utilisera jamais pour aller au travail.
La Formule 1 ne sert à rien. Pourtant elle sert à tout.
