🚨 TELEGRAM: THREAT ACTOR CLAIMS TO SELL 2.63 PETABYTES OF TELEGRAM MESSENGER DATA A threat actor using the name "UNC6783" claims to be selling data it says was taken from Telegram Messenger: more than 160,000 files totalling about 2.63 PB. The claimed offer: * Full set: $100,000, later marked down to $85,000 (claimed) * Smaller lots priced down to $500 for 2-3 files (claimed) * A 15GB+ "sample" offered to buyers (not public) The post pads the offer with a long company profile of Telegram. No public sample, forum listing or independent proof was provided, and buyers are told to make contact privately. The claim has not been independently verified, and we found no public confirmation from Telegram of any breach. ⚠️ Analyst Note: The claimed size is extraordinary and unverified. 2.63 PB across 160,000 files would average more than 16GB per file, and moving that much data out of any platform unnoticed would be a very large operation. A petabyte-scale cache priced at $85,000, and split into $500 lots, does not match the value such data would have if it were real. Company profiles copied into sale posts are common padding and prove nothing about access. Anyone can use the UNC6783 name, and nothing here ties this post to the group Google Threat Intelligence tracks under that designation. The same alias has recently posted several large claims against high-profile targets. We assess this as an unverified threat-actor claim, NOT confirmation of a compromise of Telegram.
