Yesterday we took out a full-page ad in The New York Times for dentures.
Not exactly the category you expect to see in the Business section. But 1 in 8 Americans rely on them, and almost nobody talks about them outside dentistry.
A denture affects how someone eats, speaks, smiles and whether they feel like themselves across the table from their family.
So why have dentures been made largely the same way for decades? We’ve spent a lot of time at Dandy changing that.
That work became Dandy Fusion™ Dentures.
Figured it was worth putting the conversation in front of a few more people.

17 years after the white paper, the Bitcoin network is still operational and more resilient than ever. Bitcoin never shuts down.
@SenateDems could learn something from that.

You may not believe me, but the people who will be running the global economy soon were hanging out on /b/ in the 2005-2010 era.
My intuition is that this is (somehow) a good thing for the world.

LIVE FROM 🇸🇦: our special correspondent @madfes on the Saudi-US announcements today
"The most interesting thing from today is that sanctions on Syria have finally been lifted."
"American companies haven't been able to serve customers in Syria after the civil war in 2011."
"The country has 23M people and a double-digit inflation for the past decade, which means they are a prime market for stablecoin adoption."
"If anybody is using the Syrian pound in 5 years, instead of US dollars on blockchains, we've massively screwed up as an industry."

From DC: we asked @madfes if crypto is coming back
"Founders are coming back. @paoloardoino (CEO of @tether) didn't want to come to the U.S a few years ago."
"Companies aren't nervous to sponsor crypto conferences anymore."
"The next stage is offices and HQs opening up."

I’m hiring an investor.
You’ll be the first hire working with me on the most interesting, complex and asymmetric special situations in tech.
You’ll be a good fit if you:
- trade annual letters like Pokémon
- are high pace and biased to action
- are unapologetically money motivated
- have created and sold a product
- ideological minority at a top 10 school
- debated risking it all with an SBA loan
- bought a stock before you could drive
- work in PE but long for higher MOIC
- work in VC but long for higher ROIC
- went through YC but yearn to invest
- can get a meeting w/ anyone on earth
- made money online in high school
- value heterodoxy over consensus
- value making money over being right
Steve Schwarzman defines eights as those who can follow marching orders, nines as those who can execute and strategize and tens as those can sense problems, design solutions, explore new directions and make it rain.
Eights and nines need not apply.
This role will have an equal focus on sourcing, analysis, execution and operations. In essence, you’ll wear every hat as we build the firm together. It will be all encompassing and demanding, but autonomous and yours to shape. You’ll invest and transact with the best operators and financiers in the world and produce work at an exceptionally high standard.
Experience acquiring technology companies, as well as operating them is highly prioritized but not strictly required. This role is open to all levels of seniority and will be made bespoke for the right person. In person in NYC only.

Jacked founder thesis:
I have never lost money investing in elite technical founders that are in the thousand pound club (composite of their bench press, squat, and deadlift over 1000 pounds)
They are simply “too big to fail”
When considering seed round from @Charlie_Pyle, he promised he’d derisk my investment with consistent gym attendance.
Went from 690 composite to over 1000 in less than two years- all natty.
Never been more bullish @hourglasshq
Invested in @berachain seed before I knew @SmokeyTheBera and @itsdevbear were both 1000lb members. Naturally after finding out we doubled down on the A. Wildly excited for TGE in Q5.

We've let all the law firms we work with know, that if they hire anyone who committed these bad deeds in the (soon to be) prior administration, we will no longer be a client of theirs.
Senior partners at these law firms seem unaware of the crypto industry's position on this.
For instance, Milbank recently messed up and hired Gurbir. We don't work with them now (and never will while he works there).
It's an ethics violation in my book to try and unlawfully kill an industry while refusing to publish clear rules. If you were senior there, you cannot say you were just following orders. They had the option to leave the SEC and many good people did. It was not a normal SEC tenure.
They can go work in other areas (I don't believe in permanently cancelling people), but we as an industry should not be putting money in their pocket after the abuse. Let your law firms know that hiring these folks means losing you as a client.
