He said that Microsoft’s massive AI investments, growing backlash against data centers and Xbox’s declining revenue could make the gaming division easier to sell.
Private equity buyers have explored a deal valuing Xbox at $100–150 billion but Microsoft previously stated: “Xbox is not for sale.”

Una nueva comparativa muestra los tiempos de procesamiento de AMD FSR 4 y tecnologías equivalentes en las consolas actuales. En la PlayStation 5 Pro, con PSSR 2.0, el modo Full FSR 4 en INT8 registra 2.0 milisegundos a 2160p y 1.1 ms a 1440p.
La PlayStation 5 estándar no soporta Full FSR 4. En su lugar usa una versión Lite con FP16 (más lenta que INT8), con tiempos de 4.4 ms a 2160p y 1.8 ms a 1440p. Xbox Series X sí ofrece Full FSR 4 en INT8, con 3.86 ms a 2160p y 1.95 ms a 1440p, además de un modo Lite más rápido (2.75 ms a 2160p y 1.29 ms a 1440p).
En Xbox Series S, el Full FSR 4 en INT8 marca 5.2 ms a 1440p y 2.9 ms a 1080p, mientras que el modo Lite reduce esos tiempos a 3.4 ms y 1.9 ms respectivamente. Los datos muestran diferencias claras en eficiencia entre las distintas plataformas y modos.

🔹 NetEase Acquisition: After acquiring a minority stake in 2019, NetEase fully purchased Quantic Dream in 2022, promising expansion, multiple projects, and international publishing opportunities.
🔹 Failed Multiplayer Project: Spellcasters Chronicles launched in Early Access in February 2026 but peaked at just 888 concurrent Steam players. Development was canceled on May 20, and servers shut down on June 19.
🔹 Mass Layoffs: The studio announced major restructuring, with plans to eliminate 95 positions in France, including 91 occupied roles, alongside approximately 20 job losses in Montreal.
🔹 Employee Protests: Layoff plans sparked strikes and tensions, including an October 8 walkout involving approximately 100 employees.
🔹 Store Closure: Quantic Dream’s official online merchandise store will permanently close on November 16, 2026, with remaining products being sold at discounted prices.

지금은 돌아가셨지만 과거 닌텐도의 전 사장이었던 이와타 사토루 씨는 2013년 주주총회에서 다음과 같은 이야기를 한 것으로 유명합니다.
바로 해고를 두려워하는 직원들이 과연 세상을 놀라게 할 게임을 만들 수 있겠느냐 하는 것이죠.
그 당시 닌텐도는 Wii U가 부진했고 계속 영업적자가 발생해서 경영 압박이 심했습니다.
이때 어떤 주주가 인력 감축을 통한 구조조정을 해보는 것을 제안했는데 이와타 씨는 그것이 단기적으로는 실적을 개선할 수 있지만 장기적으로는 회사를 강하게 만들지 못할 것이라고 답했다고 합니다.
아오누마 씨의 이야기도 비슷한 맥락이 아닐까 생각되네요.
