When President Trump says we need to find a compromise – we live with this. A ceasefire and sitting down at the negotiating table – it is a huge compromise.
Nobody can step into the shoes of all these people whose children were tortured. And you can't force people to forgive. How can you force them when their child was tortured? How do you forgive? It's impossible. I desperately want justice. I just really want. I know so many people had their hearts ripped out, and there won't be a new heart.
That's why we say a ceasefire is the only step, because people’s hatred isn't going anywhere. It takes time and justice. And that's why it's a huge compromise. I've tried many times to tell the President of the United States: understand us. This is a huge compromise just to hold the lines where we are. Trump can bring Putin to the negotiating table very easily. The way President Trump talks about me, he needs to adopt that kind of rhetoric about Putin.

There’s no specific theological motivation. It’s modern USA autonomism vs old school institutionalism.

In my experience, evangelicals view formation as about shoehorning their kids into an evangelical-specific subculture, rather than preparing them for life in the real world. There's also a lot of addressing the world as they think it should be rather than what it is.
The impending post schism exit of United Methodism’s likely largest church for non ideological or theological reasons is fascinating

With his recent decision to ease sanctions on Russian diesel in an effort to bring down fuel prices, Trump has abandoned any pretense of neutrality in the Russia-Ukraine War. He has chosen a side: Putin's.

Memo to the Trump administration: Stop buying companies.
A government $40 trillion in debt should be SELLING assets, not buying ownership stakes in 36 companies.
We thought government control of the means of production was what we were fighting against.

This article claims John Adams was a mouth breather because of sinuses. 😲
“Like Tocqueville, Stanley was interested in the republican experiment in America. He thought Massachusetts a model of the republican system but expressed concern about whether that system would endure as the country expanded westward. He was scathing about the travel conditions & corrupt government in Kentucky. After his arrival, he reported six murders in the previous three weeks, one by the governor’s son, who would very likely never be held accountable.“
