If I understand his numbers, you’d need 67 new nuclear energy plants by 2030 just for AI data centres in the U.S. alone
Conventional ideas about protecting the planet or environment are woefully weak and pathetic faced with this - and ‘offsetting’ is nonsensical at this scale

Dear SIA, I really had wanted to go to your conf in #BuffaloNY, where my Great Grandfather had worked the @TownofTonawanda lumber yards for 7 years before finding that migrants were unwelcome. But it's now far too dangerous to enter USA. Chicago was my last time, 2019.
Videos of presentations from sessions 6 & 7 of our “IA Online” series are now up on the SIA YouTube channel.
They feature geo-spatial approaches to locating industrial archeology sites, and geographical perspectives on industrial heritage, respectively.

You don't get railway heritage bigger or more important than the Grade A listed Forth Rail Bridge so it was a great experience to go out to the Jubilee Tower of the bridge this afternoon with @NetworkRailSCOT and @balfourbeatty - awe-inspiring and slightly scary.
