This isn't a simple spring study. After cutting his ear and while residing in an asylum, Van Gogh found bright moments of creativity despite his severe mental struggles. Then Almond Blossom arrived, Feb 1890. Suddenly, Vincent van Gogh turned darkness into a canvas of pure light, touched by news that his nephew Vincent was born. Hung proudly in his brother Theo's home and guarded by the family for generations, it became their most cherished painting.
