Very aptly said about why men don't want to marry anymore.
If a game is completely rigged against you, the only way to win the game is simply not play it.

Today my office has released a major new report on student enrollment in NYC.
We found that k-12 enrollment in our public schools has fallen by 187k since 2013, with a projected decline of an additional 128k students by 2034.
As total enrollment declines, NYCPS is serving a student population with growing needs. The number of students with disabilities is increasing. In the most recent school year, approximately 73% of students were in poverty and 14% were homeless or living in temporary housing.
Our report finds the drop in enrollment is driven by declining births and families with children leaving NYC, with a particularly notable drop in public-school enrollment as students transition from elementary to middle school.
These trends have massive implications for our schools that we have only barely begin to grapple with. My hope is that this report will spur a long overdue conversation about what the era of falling student enrollment means for NYC, and what we can do to reverse or slow it. 🧵

Black Lives Matter was platformed and legitimized even though its founders argued for “disrupting” the natural family. People who supported that are in no position to lecture anyone about anti-blackness.

I wasn’t going to bring up marriage and family, but @angela_rye opened the door so I had to be honest about both why—and where—I do my work. This interaction is why it is so important to have conversations that cross political and ideological lines.
THE SYSTEM IS DOG SHIT!
I’ve been red pilled, black pilled, white pilled, clear pilled. All the pills.
I don’t even know which one this is, but it’s one of the strongest ones I’ve had in a long long time. The desperation in his voice. You can see the sight of his kids in his eyes when he says he’s supposed to be home with them. You can see the math he’s doing in his head as he calculates how much money he has left, and how much he needs for his mortgage, and when it’s due.
What the hell is the American dream anymore? Is this what it’s about? Is there anyone who would say this guy isn’t working his ass off? For what? So that 25% of his income can go to a government that wastes it on a bunch of shit he didn’t vote for? Subsidizing the food he stocks grocery stores with for people who don’t work a 1,000th of how hard he works to buy groceries with EBT cards that he pays for, which then drives up the cost of groceries for him and his family that he pays for out of his paycheck because he’s doing it the right way.
This entire system is shit. It’s shit. There is no nicer way to put it. It is dog. shit.
This guy should be working a 9-5 at a job that gives him dignity so that he can be at home with his kids at a decent time. Instead he’s some jerk off’s content. His stressed out, end of his rope reaction is some asshole’s income.
This is bleak stuff. Absolutely bleak.

Wouldn’t it be nice if there was at least one actually pure website? One without the usual gotchas.
No asking for your email. No parts paywalled. No ads. No data collection.
I think so, which is why I created teddyrookbook.com
Homeschool families get every K–12 course free (with teaching guides and practice that checks answers), plus a lesson planner that builds a week-by-week plan. Science labs. Languages. Music. Etiquette. Logic. Meal planning. Trades and farming. And much more!
I’m building this for my family to use and sharing with others because I’m open to feedback on how it can be better.

When I was growing up there were girls in my school who were friends because their moms were friends who has grown up together. There was one foursome whose moms were also a foursome. As a weird little shy immigrant, I found this almost awe inspiring.
What happened is that people no longer have kids at a sustainable rate and the population is replaced by immigrants at a much faster rate, so society no longer has the cohesion and harmony to sustain the normal friendship lifecycle where you go through the stages of life and raise families together.

If you keep yourself fit, strong and healthy into old age, the divergence from your age cohort is astounding. As @osteobiophd says, it's like you're a different species
Unless this is you, you don't understand how weird it fels. When I go to the beach, and look at my own age, I feel like an alien - it's marvelous but baffling. Why would anyone accept accelerated physical decline due to poor lifestyle, and think it is NORMAL?
This is why you shouldn't organise your life purely because it's what the mass are doing.

I fully agree. I’m a 52-y/old male too and I don’t even feel like I’m the same species as most of my peers 😄 there’s so much to see, learn, do, experience. Even only by proxy. I can’t imagine losing curiosity, ever. I don’t need anything else, really (except my wife and son) 💪🏻🧠✨🌱🪐

In January 2025 my mom’s lung cancer spread to her brain. The drug with the best chance of helping her was approved in China but not here.
A doctor told me, almost as an aside, that if she were Chinese she could buy it at a pharmacy.
So I flew to Shanghai and came home with 26 boxes in my luggage. That was 19 months ago. My mom is still here, still working, and in her words has had an amazing three years.
The drug was approved in China in 2023. The FDA approved it in July 2025. It still is not for sale here. I know of at least 30 Americans who have made the same trip.
I have been scared to tell this story because I worried it could cost my mom access to the medicine keeping her alive. But the problem matters more than my silence. These drugs need to be developed and available here, and that means FDA reform.
Art Allen at KFF Health News told our story this week. It also ran in The Washington Post.

It was indeed. I had the small comfort of knowing I'd eventually get out of there. But most of the people in there are going to die there.
There were also people trapped in there from paralyzing accidents - broken necks and backs - who had no family or any other place to go.
There was a lot of humiliation and degradation there, from the bathing situation to the bathroom situation.
The staff didn't have time for bedpans, so everyone who was bed-bound was forced to wear adult diapers and just shit themselves and wait for ages to be changed.
I absolutely refused to do this, and I went on a hunger strike and refused to eat until I got "permission" to use a wheelchair to get into the bathroom. But it was a fight. Again, I was trapped in a bed, recovering from the surgeries and heavily medicated.
It's a long story, but I had to fight through ridiculous red tape to get a wheelchair and personal agency because they were mostly used to patients lacking the mental acuity to push back against the degrading policies.
I will write the whole tale someday.

JAŸ-Z reflects on the personal cost of fame and what success has come to mean to him in Chapter Seven of “JAŸ-Z IN 8!”
During a conversation with Rick Rubin, JAŸ-Z recalls noticing something unusual about his grandmother’s behavior, only to learn the following day that she had suffered a heart attack. He admits being frustrated with himself for dismissing the warning signs!
The experience also explains how he has come to terms with a level of fame he says he never wanted. JAŸ-Z describes the difficulty of maintaining privacy, particularly when spending time with his family, but says the opportunities his success provides for those closest to him make those sacrifices worthwhile!
“Part of how I rationalize success is I can get you any doctor in the world!”
For JAŸ-Z, being able to provide that kind of care for his grandmother helped put the personal sacrifices of fame into perspective!
