To be a journalist is to spend your entire career simultaneously aspiring to work at the New York Times and deeply resenting it for stealing so many local stories without giving credit.
NEW: The Times’s Credit Crisis A recent New York Times front-page feature on chemical plants in the Trump era had deep reporting, stark data visuals, and an uncanny resemblance to a smaller outlet’s earlier investigation. Was this a case of unacknowledged inspiration, a steroidal dose of Times exceptionalism, or sheer coincidence? puck.news/media/2026/10/did-…

He could have at least given a nod to Yassir Arafat, who won the Peace Prize in 1994. Also, there are plenty of other Arabs who have won Nobel prizes for other achievements in recent decades.
RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Novel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

Never heard this one before...
VANCE on 9/11: I remember driving to a local gas station to wait hours in line for gasoline that was now of course more expensive because of a region of the world made up of countries and names that I cannot even pronounce

JFC, people. Obama wasn’t making fun of people who eat at The Cheesecake Factory. He was making fun of the decor: part faux Italian villa, part Egyptian palace, part Las Vegas fever dream. Unless you invented eating mozzarella sticks amidst the architectural splendor of a collapsing empire, please chill.

The way Cruz makes this unsubstantiated claim about El-Sayed is pathetic and dangerous, especially given that he is on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Are people supposed to take anything he says seriously?
I believe Abdul El-Sayed is Muslim Brotherhood. If he were to win, Chuck Schumer could place him on the Senate Intelligence Committee. He would have access to the very highest level of classified materials. There would be an unacceptably high risk that the lives of American servicemen and women would be endangered, because there’s every reason to believe El-Sayed would share that classified information with Muslim Brotherhood terrorists.

Fils Mukoko, Deputy Head of Kinshasa Sanitation Dept., calls for war against westerners in Kinshasa after Belgian judge acts against his president. Can't not take this seriously. He claims that Belgium is fomenting war in the East, says "we will distribute weapons..."
JJWO

Has anyone actually confirmed that Tommy is currently being paid to be a right wing political operative or that he is (not was) a staffer for Hawley? Seems like this might be relevant. Because if not, he is indeed just a voter.
I had to read this twice to make sure of a cringeworthy fact; this Washington Post story on the el-Sayed exchange w “Tommy“ does not even mention that Tommy is a paid right wing political operative, a staffer for Josh Hawley. Journalistic malpractice. washingtonpost.com/politics/…

The man who protested could probably sue Vance for defamation if the claim is untrue. Such an attack could hurt his job prospects/job security.
JD Vance was just interrupted during his Hendersonville, NC rally by a protester seated directly behind him, who yelled "release the Epstein files" at him. Vance turned to look at the protester, a person of color, then "joked" that the protester had crossed the border illegally:

Inspired by some haunting images of destruction in Gaza, some glib comments from politicians and a phrase "theirs is a monstrous indifference" tweeted by @SkinnerPm, I wrote a tune called "Theirs is a Monstrous Indifference." Recording was pretty spontaneous so forgive quality.
