As a grown man I no longer have ‘nightmares’, where I’m scared by something, but rather ‘sadmares’, which cause me to wake up filled with an incredible and inexorable sense of melancholy and loss

mbrock.github.io/filnix/fil-… initial port slows it down around 10x, now pursuing optimization

if you have tokens to spare, consider having your agents use github.com/mbrock/filnix as a base camp for porting and verifying some important or amusing C/C++ packages building with Fil-C for memory safety

Opus and Sol are both great at working on ports and the repo mostly has enough guidance for them to figure things out, also has a decent setup for @AmpCode if you want to check against known CVEs or get blocked otherwise, use GLM 5.3 or Kimi K3

the repo has a setup and some emerging guidance for agents to make explanatory videos like this one, I’m actively improving the pedagogy and design of this

Just looking at that PHP patch I’m starting to get the sense that there might be more like this. If you can afford it, it’s probably not the worst idea to run it via fil-C for the foreseeable future.

OpenAI says the PHP security flaw (found with GPT-5.6 Sol) is the tip of the iceberg, and they have several more discoveries to announce.

Fil-PHP fixes this btw github.com/mbrock/filnix/blo…
Leaving this here, PHP 8.5.12 security patch is incomplete. ( needs further validation )
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Unvalidated AI output (author admits in replies: omp with glm5.3 + ds4), not a lab result. Its screenshot says both CVEs are fixed; the 'surviving paths' need unserialize() of attacker data or an app LFI. Patch per php.net: php.net/archive/2026.p…

Amp is built by a team of 21, with revenue the size of competitors that have 30, 40 or 50 times the staff. “This is what a lot of other companies in the future will look like.” — @sqs
21 people, a single meeting a week, no quarterly goals, no pull requests, no mandatory code review, no titles (except one dictator), a hundred releases a day, bugs fixed in minutes, famous for killing features. @sqs and @thorstenball on how the Amp team works:
