Most RWAs today are wrapped assets.
MPL-3643 changes that.
Built-in compliance, issuer controls, and DeFi composability enable tokenized securities and RWAs to be issued directly on Solana.
The next generation of onchain markets starts at the token layer.

$MPLX is one of the most under-owned assets in crypto
Should be top 4 across both metrics
Annual Earnings (revenue): $2.2M using Trailing 30D Annualized
Annual Buybacks: 50% of the above = $1.1M
Circulating Market Cap: $28M
Tokenholder Yield: 3.9%
Earnings Yield: 7.7%

Top 10 Adjusted Earnings Yield: $CAKE, $LIT, $HYPE, $RAY, $AAVE, $JUP, $SKY, $UNI, $AERO, $PENDLE
Crypto valuations don’t have to rely on narratives alone. Many crypto assets can be valued on their cash flows, earnings, and capital returned to tokenholders. Read more on The Stack: grayscale.com/the-stack/brin…

Institutional-grade assets deserve institutional-grade liquidity infrastructure.
We're excited to support @metaplex's MPL-3643, enabling anyone to create pools for permissioned RWAs on Meteora.
The future of finance is on @solana.
We're pleased to announce @MeteoraAG as an official integration partner of MPL-3643.
Institutional-grade permissioned assets should still be composable across Solana. Now, pools for MPL-3643 assets can be created on Meteora.
Bring new markets onchain with Metaplex & Meteora.

The precedent worth setting instead: a hack that can't kill the asset.
With MPL-3643, token accounts are frozen by default, so stolen tokens can't move to fresh wallets, and a new pool can't be created for them because pool vaults only work if the issuer approved that specific pool.
Worst case the damage is capped at the approved pools' liquidity, and since the hacker's accounts are frozen, the issuer can recover the tokens afterward.
Issuers also always have pause, to halt the token while they deal with the hack (pause speed depends on the mint's configuration).
A hack becomes a containment incident instead of a shutdown.
Wouldn’t have saved this token but metaplex launches do eliminate all of these liquidity and MM games
Verifiable and programmatic liquidity graduation and token unlocks. Nothing to mess up and no way to bait early buys on fake prices.
Replying to @HunterBiden

With a pool that thin, $6 of buying moved the price as much as $7,400 of selling. In a normal launch those two are about equal. Groom Lake checked 668 other launches, and none came close.
Put simply: it was over 1,000x easier to push the price up than to get out.

Solana Is Building the Bridge to Institutional Capital
The ecosystem already has strong distribution and liquidity through @JupiterExchange, @Raydium, @orca_so, @phantom and @solflare, while tokenized stocks and RWAs are gaining traction
Now @metaplex MPL-3643 adds programmable compliance, allowing issuers to set:
• KYC requirements
• Country restrictions
• Lock-ups
• Transfer limits
The idea is simple:
• Normal token: anyone can trade
• MPL-3643: only eligible wallets can trade
That could make @solana more suitable for assets like stocks, funds and other regulated products without giving up its fast settlement and existing ecosystem
The bigger opportunity is combining:
Solana’s speed + liquidity + users + RWA infrastructure + compliance
If it works, Solana could serve both sides of the market: permissionless crypto and regulated finance

if you’re bullish on "tokenize everything on solana", pay attention to the teams making it possible:
@metaplex has been building tokenization infrastructure on solana since 2021 (?)
5+ years of standards & tools that other teams turn into products, businesses & markets.
metaplex's work expands what builders can do on solana.
every new standard opens up more assets to create, more ideas to try & more businesses to build
the latest, MPL-3643, could give builders more ways to bring real world assets with transfer restrictions onchain. (more below).
metaplex is 🐐.
builders will win.
Seeing solana:METAewgxyPbgwsseH8T16a39CQ5VyVxZi9zXiDPY18m being left off a lot of the buyback lists
One of the largest buyback programs in crypto relative to market cap
When everyone else stopped/scaled back during the bear, Metaplex doubled down, including OTC purchases by Metaplex Fndn on top of the monthly DAO buybacks

US investors are restricted from accessing nearly every tokenized stock available today
A regular token doesn’t know its holder, so issuers rely on DeFi venues to restrict
MPL-3643 solves this w/ compliance logic built into the token itself, preserving composability with DeFi

Join at 11:05 KST for a keynote on MPL-3643 and designing compliant RWA architectures for institutional adoption.

Being a founder is never a straight line.
Sometimes the disaster, the mistake, the chaos… is exactly what opens the door to the next opportunity.

The devs have gotten a lot of love this week, but MPL-3643 doesn't ship without the people pushing it forward. @DegenMack has driven this relentlessly from the beginning and is repping it at KBW right now. @bgrace805 has been doing the legal work that shaped what this product could actually be. @chelms34 (also on the ground at KBW) and @strangeviews15 have been building our BD pipeline and pitch materials since summer. And @SolNFTs ran the launch you saw today.
Takes a lot more than code to bring new markets onchain.
Bringing new markets onchain requires compliance infrastructure that supports issuer-sponsored tokenization.
Today, we're thrilled to introduce MPL-3643: a new standard for permissioned real-world assets and tokenized securities on @solana.

HUGE: @metaplex launched MPL-3643, a Solana standard for tokenized securities that builds the issuer's compliance rules, such as KYC, jurisdiction limits and lockups, into the token.

The onchain RWA market today is roughly $38 billion. The assets that could be onchain are over $350 trillion. MPL-3643 is built for that gap.
The next wave of global markets is coming onchain to Solana.
MPL-3643 by @metaplex allows for native issuance for a broad range of real-world assets with built-in compliance functionality.
Permissioned, yet composable across Solana.
