holy sh*t @agentmail went from under 20 million emails a year ago to over 1 billion today.
it gives an AI agent its own email inbox with one API call, so it can send, receive and act on email like a person would.

Base Labs launched Mammoth-1, an open 27B decision model for classification, routing, and scoring.
it's post-trained from Qwen3.5-27B to return probabilities directly from the model's logits, without generating a text response.
when you ask several questions about the same input, it processes the shared context once and reuses that cache for each question.
i put Mammoth-1 head-to-head with DeepSeek V4.1 Flash: 50 messages, spam or real, with accuracy, speed, and cost on the scoreboard.
in this small test, Mammoth-1 finished faster with one extra mistake.
but both models were around 90% confident even on their misses.

Speculative decoding fixes this:
→ a small model guesses several tokens ahead
→ the big model checks all of them in one pass
→ correct guesses are kept, wrong ones are redone
