A short thread on what refusal to comply can look like, with specifics, examples, and ideas for what the future may hold.
Actually IDK if it's gonna be short, but it's gonna be specific, so read on if you're curious.

They sent me a dozen roses when my cat passed away. Completely unprompted; I just told them that I had to return an unopened package of kidney food because our cat had passed.

Both of my kids struggled at 5yo and into 6yo, but really took off with reading sometime around 6.5yo. They’re fine readers now.

Tater tots - pack them in a roasting pan, season with whatever you like and sprinkle w/shredded cheese (or parmesan), bake at 425F. Same thing for frozen breaded chicken - it can cook at same temp. Other veggies optional 😉

I don’t know if it’s the food or not, but I’ve lived in a Midwest town, a rural area, and two large cities on opposite coasts, and the amount of walking that’s incorporated into daily life in a big city is astonishing to those who don’t live it.

I got into grad school (biology PhD) and then deferred a year. I worked as a lab tech. That year of learning what it was like to work 40 hrs a week in lab (vs. lab classes or part time intern) was super valuable.

1. Focused on industry since my 3rd year of PhD. Tried hard to ignore the not-so-subtle suggestions from advisors that it was the wrong path. 2. Applied for jobs that closely matched my skill set. 3. Willing to take a contract position to start to get my foot in the door.
