this is a reminder to everyone else that some people will SAY they are anti-censorship, not because they actually are, but because they are stupid and/or don’t want to be ostracized by other nsfw fic accs for being pro-censorship

and the bigger the repository, the more likely it'll get flagged and scraped. Again, this is not my opinion, i'm not here to discuss my feelings. I'm sharing facts for those who care to consider them. It's infringement and it further exposes public work to AI scraping, all true

Google Drive uses AI and trains their models on it. Fuck you all for uploading and sharing stuff without writers’ consents.

Findme svng, Fuzzy eyed, watching the screen of his tv, memorizing the fifth tape, cradling another in his hand, dead body perched next to him on the couch vibes. Hes so sleepy but he has to watch. He has to keep watching.

i don't have an issue with people downloading my fics for their own use, but i think uploading them and making them widely available on a site i have not agreed to have them on without my consent is a little bit different

am I too woke of a fic writer to be a little conflicted about fics being downloaded to personal drives without the author’s knowledge and shared/read without the author gaining any site engagment or is this something I should brush off and get over /gen

i don’t think it’s naive for authors to feel conflicted about their works getting uploaded in any other place other than the one they specifically consented to though? ao3 made it possible for works to be downloaded, true, but for personal use.

Everyone wants to dunk on this writer but if an artist was unhappy with their art being dumped into a drive and shared by others, we’d all be understanding. You can save images from just about any app or site, but we don’t tell artists to never upload.

Idk i just feel like when ao3 is back up I need everybody to be heaps more graceful towards fic writers because if two weeks without their works is painful then maybe we shouldn't be discoursing weekly about how much you think they suck at writing.

🚨‼️ WHILE AO3 is down ‼️🚨 If you read fic from someone’s shared drive, please keep in mind that the authors won’t see any hits/kudos on their work. Once the site is back up, make sure to show those authors some love with kudos/comments. We must feed them if we want to eat
