Howdy, Texas! I'm Clayton Tucker, your Texas Agriculture Commissioner-Elect, and I've spent my life working on our family ranch and fighting for working Texans. The Greedy Few on Wall Street and in Silicon Valley want to drain our aquifers, drive up our power bills, and bulldoze our farmland to build massive AI data centers that enrich billionaires at the expense of working Texans. Together, we're going to stop these irresponsible AI data centers from messing with Texas, bust corporate monopolies, and put everyday Texans first!

The voters have spoken, and I want to extend my congratulations to James Talarico on his election to the U.S. Senate. I look forward to meeting him and offering my assistance with his transition as he prepares to serve Texans in the U.S. Senate.

Many of you are asking how you can help me. My only ask is this: Spread the word about the threats to democracy and how we can fight back. Tell everyone to subscribe to Democracy Docket and share its content. demdock.com/4wbp1va

Pretty insane that the president falls asleep in the Oval Office during televised meetings on a near daily basis and there aren't overwhelming calls for the 25th Amendment

Emmanuel Crawford was three years old when his parents sold him. They lived in Ghana and they were poor enough that they could not feed him. So he was sold into the fishing trade on Lake Volta, which is where a lot of Ghana's trafficked children end up. Here is what a three year old does out there. He sits in a leaky wooden canoe and bails water out of it by hand, all day, so the boat does not sink. And when the nets get caught, he goes in after them. Lake Volta is man made. They dammed a river and flooded a forest to build it, and the trees are still down there, standing dead under the water. The nets snag on the branches, and somebody small has to dive down into water you cannot see through and pull them loose. Children drown doing that. Regularly. Crawford did it for two years. He was five when a man working with a rescue organization came across his canoe out on the lake. Crawford has described it simply. "He felt a tug on his heart from the Lord, that this kid doesn't need to be here." He was taken to a home in Tema, Ghana, run by a nonprofit called Touch A Life that gets children out of the trade. And that is where a couple from Grove, Oklahoma found him. Audrey and Stan Crawford. "When I first met my mom, I jumped onto her, I just climbed her, and we were best friends from the very beginning." The adoption took months. Then Audrey got on a plane and brought a six year old home to a town of about 6,000 people in northeast Oklahoma, where he became the youngest of six kids. He remembers the first day. "I had my first hamburger that day and fries. It was heaven on Earth." Then he grew up and started playing football. As a senior at Grove High School he carried the ball 230 times for 2,304 yards. That is 10 yards every single time he touched it. He scored 36 rushing touchdowns, caught 19 passes for 546 more yards and seven more scores, and Grove went 13-1. He finished his career with 6,777 rushing yards. That is the most anyone has ever run for in Oklahoma Class 5A history. Plus 93 rushing touchdowns. They named him the 2022-23 Gatorade Oklahoma Football Player of the Year. And then he went to Arkansas as a preferred walk-on. No scholarship. The best football player in the state, walking on. He got there partly because Sam Pittman, who was the Arkansas head coach at the time, went to Grove High School himself. Crawford's high school coach texted him about the kid. "The only campus that I felt a real connection was Arkansas. On the car ride home, I was like, 'I know where I want to be.'" He redshirted in 2023 and has been stuck behind a crowded backfield ever since. Pittman got fired after last season. Crawford is still on the roster in Fayetteville. Number 21. Still waiting on his carries. He has waited for worse.

23 MILLION Americans order insurance from brokers on the exchanges (“Obamacare”). It isn’t fraud. Contractors, sole proprietors, some small business workers, service industry, new employed at companies that don’t offer immediate benefits, etc
Dr Oz: "CMS is announcing a temporary national moratorium. There will be no new brokers for Obamacare in this country for the next months."

Most exciting match of the @USOpen may end up being from Sebastian Gorzny, who I saw play for Texas at the NCAAs in Athens, Georgia in May and in the USTA American Collegiate Wild Card Playoffs in Orlando in June, save five match points Monday. My story worldtennismagazine.com/seba…

I broke that Interior is trying to find a way to give up a small bit of Yosemite in a land swap. In the last 24 hrs, the people who’ve dedicated their lives to Yosemite have told me they’re outraged. They say it needs protecting, not further development. notus.org/climate-environmen…

Trump has very weak public support for most of his imprudent, self-damaging foreign policies. Few Americans support his disastrous failure of a war against Iran, berating/abandoning our allies in Europe and Asia, annexing Greenland or the Strait of Hormuz, imposing tariffs irrationally and emotionally, and embracing dictators . He wasn’t elected to do any of these things. He is just ad libbing , driven entirely by his own personal impulses. And tragically, those around him are too timid to try to constrain his worst ideas.

If Congress approves Trump's latest request, US farmers will receive $55.4B in subsidies this year. 'If spread evenly across 153.8 million U.S. taxpayers, that total would equal roughly $360 per taxpayer." 😳 agweb.com/news/business/farm…

Special report from Port Arthur, Texas. It is one of the saddest, most desolate places I have ever visited. It is also where Aramco, FIFA's major worldwide partner and an inescapable presence at the World Cup, owns the largest oil refinery in the US. theguardian.com/football/202…

Independent analyses estimate that your actions to dismantle USAID and drastically reduce lifesaving foreign aid have already killed 700,000 people. Here are some of those people. 🧵nitter.gq/elonmusk/status/206944…
All DOGE required was contact information of the recipients to confirm that funding was not fraudulent. No validated medical funding was stopped. Anything that appeared to be legitimate lifesaving funding continued and is now administered by the State Department. If anyone had actually died as a result of DOGE, their names would be worldwide headline news! On the other hand, USAID did help fund the Wuhan Virology Institute, which caused the deaths of millions, and the revolution that started the Russia-Ukraine war.
