Reflection: India VIX seems to be one of the most misinterpreted Index in desi Fintwit. Understand that a 1% rise in VIX does not mean that the vols have gone up by 1%. There is a non linear relationship between Nifty ATM vols and India VIX Disclaimer: Not an investment advice

Fantastic! 🔥 The game of points n miles is moving away from banks who are devaluing a lot of cards this year to startups where there are pockets of real value! Learning from the pros, to play the game better. 💪🏽
Will be live tonight with @spendwiselyx to go over the Rove bonus offers before they run out! This is probably the best miles sale of the year; if you have summer or new year trips planned to Europe, US, Japan or Australia, this can save you a lot of money! youtube.com/live/iwXTEfR_Oi8 - do tune in. 830PM tonight!

We’ve raised $1.3M from YC & Afore Capital so you never have to type or speak again. Typing is slow. Talking into your computer is awkward. Subvocal fixes both Our glasses give you the speed of speech without you making a sound or touching a keyboard. It tracks your internal speech muscles with non-contact sensing and decodes silent, almost invisible mouthing into text at more than 200 words/min. Your 90-year-old self would give anything to be where you are right now. Lift weights, walk, eat healthy, and sleep well. You are living your golden years right now. You're younger than you think you are. Don't waste it.

Why is my "for you" feed full of dud maths questions? May be it's reflective of how dumb I am.

Did the math: 15 scripts a day × 365 = 5,475 scripts a year. With AI, I can easily hit that target. The real problem? I've spent the last 60 minutes staring at the screen trying to figure out what script #1 should be. Thinking is the new coding. So is procrastinating. 😭

Most options activity is meaningless. I’ve never met anyone who consistently makes money by following options flow. In small stocks, it may occasionally matter because someone knows something. But in companies worth more than $100 billion, it is almost entirely noise. It should never be part of an investment thesis. It only clouds the investment process.

I skip music at the gym. Whatever's on the gym speakers is fine, even when it's trash. Earphones are still fiddly mid-workout, + I'd rather not spend any headspace on whether the algorithm got the playlist right. One less decision! No cognitive stress!

A good quant can solve the engineering. The harder question is who you're building it for. 1- Retail traders? Many still apply technical analysis to option premium charts. They'll pay for simplicity and signals, not rigour. 2- Prop firms? Most run bespoke, in-house stacks built around how they trade. They rarely buy off the shelf. 2- Your own fund? Then the tooling is your edge, not your product. Requires compliance - SEBI licence before you take outside money. Each answer leads to a different company.
If you're building a fintech startup, here's something worth considering. Data visualization, charting, analytics, backtesting, and optimization are no longer strong competitive moats on their own. With today's AI tools, sophisticated applications can be recreated using screenshots, documentation, or existing products as references. The barrier to building these tools is falling rapidly. Putting basic capabilities behind paywalls may no longer be a sustainable long-term strategy. Instead, focus on building a moat that's harder to replicate: trust, distribution, unique data, deep integrations, and exceptional user experience. The real opportunity isn't just in building features. It's in creating value that others can't easily reproduce.

Probably a better lens: the return distribution. You can summarise a distribution by its moments, and in practice the first four do most of the work: Mean: where returns are centred Volatility: how widely they spread Skew: which side of the distribution is heavier Kurtosis: how fat the tails are The options market prices each of these, and every trade can be characterized by these risks: Equities: delta, vega, skew, vol of vol FX: delta, vega, rega, sega Rates: dv01, ir vega (norm vols atm vega), rho (ρ), volvol (ν) (SABR) Same four ideas in every asset class. Only the language changes. Disclaimer: I'm not saying you should learn these. It's in my interest that you don't. Keeps me employable 😉 Peace 🤘🏽
Opinion, not advice. It's simply beyond me why people look at options price charts. An option's price blends spot, vol and time into one line. Theta bleeds it daily, delta drags it with the underlying, vega yanks it around. So a falling premium could mean the stock moved against you, time passed, or vol got crushed. The chart can't tell you which. You're drawing support and resistance on something that decays by design. Half the "trend" you see is just theta/ carry. The premium is an output. The information is in the inputs: spot, IV, skew. Just feels so wrong to hunt for patterns in prices! end of #rant

1 year is just a checkpoint 136kg -> 103kg (96% of the loss is fat) smm, bmr ⬆️ 6xl -> 2xl tshirts No pain in the back/ glutes/neck.... diabates, hypertension, cholestrol level and other stats - normal. Feeling like 30s at 45. Ideal body weight by next year! #lfg 💪🏽🔥 (This is just a feel good message and not trying to prove a point to anyone who is reading this)
Traders live one of the most unhealthy lifestyles out there: endless hours glued to screens, meals at the desk, sleep traded for the next session. It took me far too long to realise this isn't the way to live. A drawdown in your account will recover with the next market cycle. A drawdown in health often won't. Protect your body like you protect your capital. 📉➡️💪

Option price = f(F,K,T,σ) The only independent variable is σ So options just price the expectation of σ Sometimes it's a good expectation and sometimes its a bad expectation, but overall its almost always fair Option LOBs are just MMs avoiding arbs and pricing the σ correctly
