They risked their lives for the United States and now we're sending them to their death.
Breaking News: The Trump administration has detained dozens of Afghan immigrants in Louisiana — including relatives of those who helped the U.S. military — and plans to deport them to Afghanistan, according to U.S. officials. nyti.ms/4jPVvrw

this is insane. Of all the heartless gutless things this administration has done this may be the worst. These people took massive risks to help our military, and were promised asylum in exchange. It is unconscionable.
We have a loved one scheduled to be on this flight. He will be killed if he’s returned to the Taliban. He supported the US mission in Afghanistan. He has broken no laws. He came here legally. Seeking asylum should not be a death sentence.

A truly disturbing report on the administration's effort to politicize and dismantle the scientific infrastructure in the US. This should be concerning to all who care about the health of their loved ones, all businesses concerned with the welfare of their employees and their future products, and all those who care about the long term economic and military strength of America. The pipeline of emerging medicines for cancer cachexia. By my count, there are 20 drugs in clinical trials, with 14 distinct mechanisms -- 9 of them focussed on the GDF15–GFRAL pathway, including two bispecifics (GDF15 × IL-6 and GDF15 × NGF). There is even a vagus nerve-blocking device, that's now in phase 1!

It turns out that the person who dressed his children as Russian monsters for Halloween at the White House was Stephen Miller, Trump's homeland security adviser, a conspiracy theorist, Nazi, racist, and opponent of military aid to Ukraine (although, on that last point, they're all pretty much the same). Now, a clarification regarding the supposedly Russian military uniform worn by Miller's son. The boy was wearing a Soviet military cap, a patch featuring the insignia of Russia's tank forces, and camouflage resembling the U.S. Marine Corps' MARPAT pattern. In other words, it wasn't an actual Russian military uniform but a peculiar hybrid costume assembled from different elements. Unlike the boy, whose military outfit consisted of mismatched pieces, Miller's daughter's costume appeared to follow a fairly consistent Russian folk style.

👼🏻4 months old. Sleeping in his mother’s arms. Russia killed them both. Tymofiy Haidarzhy, 4 months old. On March 2, 2024, a Russian Shahed drone hit a residential building in Odesa. He was found under the rubble in the arms of his 31-year-old mother Anna. They were asleep. His father and older sister survived because they were in another room. This was not an “accident.” This was a Russian strike on civilians. #StopRussia #UkraineUnderAttack #ChildrenOfUkraine #StandWithUkraine

Greenville, NC: A mother with a baby at home was woken at 3:20 a.m. after a nearby shooting (bullets nearly hit two kids). Police wanted her Ring doorbell footage. She said the camera was dead. Sgt. Jennifer Umphlet threatened to rip it off the wall, get a warrant, and keep her up all night. Officers then entered without a warrant, detained her for “not cooperating,” and (per her account) used her face to unlock and search her phone. Nothing found—she wasn’t a suspect. The actual shooters were later charged without her video. Umphlet was placed on leave; public records later showed she was no longer employed. This is what happens when “can we see your camera?” turns into forced entry and detention of ordinary people.

🚨 POLICE SERGEANT FIRED AFTER DEPLOYING TASER SEVEN TIMES ON MAN EXPERIENCING A MEDICAL EMERGENCY A man was outside his OWN HOME putting up Halloween decorations when he suffered a seizure, collapsed in his yard, and needed emergency medical assistance. What happened afterward has now resulted in a police sergeant losing his job. On October 25, Dwight Jackson was decorating for Halloween in Chattahoochee, Florida, when he suddenly collapsed. His brother, Caleb Johns, called for help. According to Johns, Jackson had been experiencing a seizure for approximately TEN MINUTES before EMS arrived. Paramedics were already treating him when Sgt. Price of the Chattahoochee Police Department arrived. According to Jackson’s brother, EMS personnel had been rendering aid for approximately 45 minutes when the officer intervened. Johns described the officer pushing people aside and jumping on Jackson as he was beginning to regain awareness. THE OFFICER DEPLOYED HIS TASER SEVEN TIMES. Police Chief Michael Miller claims EMS requested assistance because they were having difficulty restraining a combative individual. He also claims Jackson physically resisted the officer and pulled on his body armor. Jackson says he wasn’t intentionally combative. He was suffering a medical emergency. And anyone familiar with seizures should understand that involuntary movements and post-seizure confusion can occur. Jackson later described the experience as “more terrifying than war” because he was defenseless and had no idea what was coming. But there are additional developments that I have discovered… According to reporting on the police chief’s findings: ▪️ The officer reportedly FAILED TO RECORD the initial encounter and use of force on his body camera. ▪️ A supervisory review of available footage identified ANOTHER use-of-force incident while Jackson was being transferred into the police department. ▪️ Jackson reportedly suffered ANOTHER SEIZURE while at the police station, requiring EMS to be called again and resulting in his transportation to a hospital. ▪️ A separate recording captured Sgt. Price in a verbal confrontation with an EMS employee. ▪️ Jackson says he was never formally booked into jail and was eventually released. On October 28, Police Chief Michael Miller announced that Sgt. Price had been TERMINATED following the department’s review. Jackson is now considering legal action.

NEW FOIA FILES is out! Ok so this is interesting? Last month, I obtained a memo signed by AG Todd Blanche that was sent to all federal agencies that advised officials how they should implement Trump's EO designating English as the "official" language of the US. The memo said some agencies, such as the Departments of Homeland Security, Treasury and Education scrubbed their websites of non-English language materials. Well... last week, Blanche revised his memo and sent a new version to agencies. I obtained a copy. English is now not only the "official" language of the US, Blanche wrote, it is now the "sole official language." One thing that Blanche added that wasn't in the previous version of his memo: the DOJ will seek public comments on the English Language guidance. Blanche noted, however, that the DOJ will not respond to public comments.” You gotta read this week's FOIA Files for the full story. There's a lot more. As always, it's free!
