This Forbes investigation is a must-read. Donald Trump pulled in roughly $1.4 billion from crypto in 2025, plus more than $200 million from real estate, and faced a projected tax bill north of $500 million. So his company donated the "development rights" to his Jupiter, Florida golf course to a land trust, argued the course was a natural habitat worth protecting, and kept right on running the club. Forbes estimates the write-off could land around $825 million. He has done this at least five times since 2005. New York's attorney general alleged two of those appraisals were inflated. In Doral, he claimed a deduction of up to $323 million, more than double what he paid for the entire resort. A month after the Jupiter deal, he sued the IRS. The settlement his own Justice Department signed bars claims against him over matters that "could be pending," language that appears broad enough to cover this year's taxes. A federal judge found the case was brought to manipulate the judicial process. And the man now running the IRS, who took the job as this deal was being assembled, has a home backing onto those same Jupiter fairways. This is absolutely ridiculous. Nobody should be able to use the presidency to write his own tax bill. forbes.com/sites/danalexande…

The report explicitly acknowledges that hatred toward Jews is NOT on the rise, and that only anti-Israel sentiments are increasing. And yet they STILL published a review claiming “antisemitism” is a major problem in British schools, because "antisemitism" means "opposing Israel".
Buried on page 30 of 'Sir' David Bellend's report into antisemitism in schools in the UK it explicitly says there hasn't been a rise in antisemitism, only in anti-Israel sentiment. Astonishingly fraudulent crisis/debate, all to shield a genocidal state

This young woman voted in Abilene, and the lines were long. It took about 45 minutes, and the poll workers tried to say she wasn't registered. She made them check and check again; it turns out she was an active voter, and they "didn't have it updated.”

So just to be clear. Two women and a baby went into Walmart and bought diapers. Someone reported them for stealing the diapers after they left the store. They got in their car and started driving away, unaware of any problem. Police pulled up, fired into the moving vehicle and killed the baby. The only people who DIDN'T make a mistake here were the ones in the car.
So in Mississippi, taking a plan B is murder But killing a 1 year old black child by a police officer is justifiable

Cop who shot a 1 year old dead because she thought someone MIGHT have been shoplifting has been ruled fine, won't even be investigated. America is a sick place where, they murder babies for no reason at all and then say it's fine.

I HATE PRIVATE EQUITY. I HATE IT WITH SO MUCH PASSION. Not investing. Not markets. Not business in general. I hate this one specific move: a firm buys a company using borrowed money, loads that debt onto the company's own books instead of the firm's, pays itself management fees straight out of whatever profit is left, and walks away clean no matter what happens to the business. Sears was a dominant, functioning retailer when Eddie Lampert's hedge fund took it over. Over the next 13 years, it got loaded with billions in debt, its real estate and brands got sold off piece by piece to pay Lampert and his fund, and the company filed for bankruptcy in 2018 with over $11 billion in liabilities. More than 200,000 jobs disappeared over that stretch. Lampert personally walked away with an estimated $1.4 billion. He didn't lose. He was never going to lose. The debt was never his. Nobody's saying capitalism itself is the problem. I'm saying there's a version of it where you can gut a company for parts, call it "restructuring," collect the fees either way, and the law treats it as a legitimate business strategy every single time.

A brief review of recent technical “errors” at Meta: 1. Restricting the Facebook pages of Brazilian president Lula who is in a runoff election against a Trump-favored candidate 2. Shutting down the pages of Albanians protesting Jared Kushner’s plans to build a luxury resort in the country 3. Rejecting ads for a documentary critical of Elon Musk 4. Shutting down the No Kings instagram page in the middle of a major anti-Trump protest

Looks like what runners and cyclists feared could come true: Trump’s plans for a new golf course at East Potomac Park seem to eliminate the existing three-mile roads that circles the island. It’s a popular destination for running, riding, and driving access to Hains Point.
New: Trump says that East Potomac Golf Course will close on Nov 15 for the redesign by Tom Fazio. “Restoration work will begin on the Fazio Design on November 15th, when the old Course will be closed to play. The new Course will be opened in approximately 15 months.” This comes as there is a heated legal dispute right now about whether the government can redesign the course.

A trans woman died because of the UK’s new hospital ward policy forcing them men's wards. Joelle was only 27 — a musician, coder, and daughter. This is what happens when they care more about demagoguery, backwards views of sex, non-existent risk than people's well being.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
References by Joelle's mother to an announcement by Steve Barclay, date this to October 2023 - therefore well before the current NHS policy change. No details about the circumstances of Joelle's death have been independently verified or reported. translegalclinic.com/justice-for-jo… theguardian.com/society/2023/o…
