I love this podcast. So helpful for me
It’s often underlying sadness or grief that causes us to feel jealousy in certain situations. This week, Dedeker is joined by special guest Orit Krug in discussing how our feelings show up in our bodies, and how we can work through them in healthy ways.

This podcast episode from @multiamory talks about different communication styles. (Link to the episode in the comment)
Because our conditioning taught us that passive = polite. So anything that isn’t passive has in as rude. On the flip side, we really do go from passive to absolute dicks in less than 10 seconds. We have no middle ground.

I said gentle parenting but I meant Positive Discipline. @Supernovamomma's work is great for that. Communication courtesy of multiamory.com/radar of @multiamory . And yes, it's geared towards relationships with others but our relationship with ourselves sets precedent.

Listened to this podcast’s conversation on aromanticism yesterday. It’s fascinating in the way it challenges core ideas about the primacy of romance in our lives and how we use it to judge people.
Aromanticism: an orientation where romantic attraction is limited or absent. It's a part of the diverse spectrum of human relationships and identities. This week, we discuss aromanticsm, what romance even is, and how we can support the aromantic people in our lives.

It's wild how many people think that being polyamorous means you do less -- that you can't commit or care about your relationships. When really, you're a relationship overachiever. You have multiple loves, you're busy, and you care so much. And it's wonderful, yet exhausting.

This @multiamory episode is such a good example of non-monogamous ‘apologetics’: explaining what CNM is and why people might want to do it. If you have loved ones who are struggling to understand your choices, send this to them! – at Brampton, Ontario
Today, we are talking to all of you who may have just had a loved one tell you they are non-monogamous! Maybe you’re feeling confused. Maybe you’ve never even heard of polyamory or non-monogamous! We are discussing basics for those who may be new to the concept of polyamory.

MICRODOSE your dates - Ever wondered the secret to a successful first date?! Keep it short! Daters tend to remember what happens at the beginning of the date and at the end, so don't let it drag on. I break it all down on this crossover episode of @multiamory

For me personally it's an inherent identity - being attracted to and loving more than one person isn't something I can turn off, and I dealt with a lot of self hate before I realized that I wasn't broken, I just wasn't monogamous.
Do you think a desire for monogamous or polyamorous relationships comes from preference and choice? Or do you think a proclivity towards one type of relationship is more of an intrinsic personal identity? How do you view the question of identity vs. preference? #multiamory

For me, It's an identity, an orientation first and a life choice second. Last year I surveyed 854 people from all over the world and the results are pretty clear, over 96% feel polyamory is part of their core identity.

I 100 percent think it's an identity.

I wish we would stop categorising this. Neither, whether it's an identity or life-style, excuses or justifies discrimination against it. It doesn't matter whether you're born queer or you've somehow "acquired" it over your life - we have the right to *be*. Full stop.

It’s a mix of both I believe. I would never have considered Poly in my 20s as was too emotionally unstable for any relationship really. In my 40s though is perfect and couldn’t imagine being any other way and consider it intrinsically part of my personal identity.

I believe that people can be wired for polyamory or monogamy, but that not everyone is wired one way or the other. I believe that someone wired for monogamy can participate in a polyamorous relationship and someone wired for polyamory can participate in a monogamous relationship.
