„Made in China“ steht hierzulande für billig Ware.

The 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) held its fifth plenary session from Monday to Thursday in Beijing, adopting a resolution on persevering with full and rigorous Party self-governance. Chinese experts said the session underscores the CPC's determination to strengthen internal discipline and sustain its anti-corruption campaign, while reinforcing the Party's capacity to govern at a critical stage in China's development. Moreover, as China advances its modernization drive, the session carries broader significance for maintaining policy continuity, strengthening governance and laying the groundwork for the country's long-term development. globaltimes.cn/page/202610/1…

Vietnam is the answer to the Cuba argument. Vietnam was bombed, sanctioned, isolated, and subjected to every tool of economic and military pressure the same architects could deploy. And Vietnam, stubbornly, unreasonably, against the specific logic of the argument, refused to be the evidence they needed. It built anyway. It grew anyway. It became, by most measures that matter to actual human beings living actual lives, a functioning, rapidly developing, upper-middle-income country that is now courted by the same government that tried to erase it. The sanctions didn’t prove the point. Vietnam disproved the methodology. The country that was supposed to be the warning became, instead, a question: What might Cuba look like, what might any of them look like, if the embargo had never existed?

A hilarious misunderstanding given the increasing integration of AI into the **agriculture industry** in China to improve yields and optimize harvests thereby reducing farmer workload and labor. Also my understanding is that China intentionally builds data centers at higher
The Chinese gov't made rural farmers give up their agriculture and water supplies to channel the water to cool AI hyperscalers, and the most that's been done is make over 500,000 terrible microdramas and an ugly AI film that bombed at the box office, so this was inevitable.

elevations or underwater to improve cooling without utilizing as much water. Anyway it's clear OP is making hyperbolic claims to make their point but AI is used for much more productive reasons that simple cdrama slop, which is just more visible than e.g. agricultural production.

Midterm voting in states like FL means voting on amendments *to* reduce billions in spending on public services & institutions. There are democracies of so-called “authoritarian” states that ppl actually get to vote *on* community projects they want state funding for…I don’t moralize the act of voting or not voting, I just think there needs to be more honesty about the inherent limitations of OUR electoral system 🥴

A midnight departure, 1,500 kg of dumplings -- and a simple act of kindness. After a 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck Baqen County on Thursday, restaurant owner Du Guoping postponed the opening of his two new restaurants and headed to the disaster zone with his staff. They loaded more than 1,500 kg of dumplings onto vehicles and set off from Xigaze at midnight. Upon arrival, they set up cooking equipment and cooked dumplings for rescue workers and affected residents xhtxs.cn/bfWD

“It’s union busting.” Illinois's Cook County School District 130 community members are sounding the alarm on the horrific conditions inside schools after the Board of Education laid off all custodial staff in August. For the past two months, SEIU Local 73 custodians and the community they’ve served for decades have been fighting to get their jobs back. Now, public officials across the region are joining the call to reinstate the custodians and respect their labor rights. In an attempt to silence widespread outrage, the board decided to cap attendance for the first time ever at Tuesday’s meeting, which led to community members rallying just outside. The next board meeting is scheduled for Nov. 17, but the demand for an emergency meeting to immediately reinstate the local custodians is growing.
