Dalton Rushing is having surgery on his right elbow today, per @maddie_m_lee, which will keep him out as a catcher for nine months but allow him to hit sooner.
The Dodgers can capitalize on the lockout and fully resolve Rushing's issue rather than continue with non-surgical healing methods.

Biggest takeaway from Andrew Friedman's exit interview: expect the Dodgers to be active.
Friedman stressed the importance of making some quick decisions on which of their "key" free agents the team will target.
He also said he wants to improve the team, so the Dodgers will certainly explore options.
Very, very definitive statements from Dodgers president Andrew Friedman:
Surgery is "not on the table," and "fully expect him to pitch next year."
Looks like Ohtani will be a full go for 2027.
