Let’s set the record straight: @lcfr_hax was the first to discover php2shell and develop a working exploit. See his August 5 tweet: xitter.cf/lcfr_hax/status/208503… His work convinced the PHP Foundation to invest in fixing this entire bug class. He then worked around the clock to review, test, and retest the patches.

Now is a good time to audit the legal docs for all your banks, retirement accounts, brokerages, etc. Do they have loss protections due to “unauthorized access”? How much? I was surprised to find some who have nothing. Do it & make the necessary changes… soon.

If the purpose of a system is what it does, the purpose of the field of AI safety is to launder human disempowerment.
There is simply no future where humans continue to do economically useful work for much longer. Your choice is at best between various flavors of “ASI let’s humans have fun and play make believe”

There is going to be something you unknowingly or unwillingly rely on that was built by an idiot CEO that fired their dev team and decided to play the slots. The only one who loses is you.

This keeps happening and will continue to get worse. A couple months ago I found an insane vuln in a vibecoded IoT web frontend and took over their entire cloud env, device fleet, and could spy on the vendor in their own office. They never once noticed keys in their source code.
❗️ The CEO of a South African coffee chain vibe-coded an internal dashboard for all of his 132 stores, only it had one big flaw: all of the sensitive internal data was stored in the source code of the login screen. The dashboard URL was discovered through employees posting photos of their laptop screens on Instagram. The CEO said he had discovered Claude and was "almost certain" that software itself will soon "become free," they said.

Whenever I've thought LLM based worms, I've always looked back at what SPTH wrote in @tmpout 3. SPTH's LLMorpher papers discuss self-modifying Python that calls APIs to modify itself on each run. This is a much simpler method than attempting to orchestrate multi-device inference.
🚨Anthropic Frontier Red Team warns: “We’re seeing signs of life for AI worms” >paper: "AI models may be capable of self-replicating without access to a datacenter" >researchers buy 15 sketchy $55 android TV boxes >link them over unauthenticated ADB ports >the TV boxes have 4gb of RAM each and run unpatched Android Open Source Project forks >shard gemma4-26b across the ram sticks using pipeline parallelism >gemma figures out how to run inference across all 15 TVs @ 0.39 tokens/sec >qwen 3.5 9b figures out how to compile inference on 8 of 9 novel hardware types on its own >glm 5.2 achieves end-to-end autonomous worm replication >infects edge devices, compiles its own inference stack, and replicates autonomously >when an instance dies, it writes debugging notes into Memento for the next generation >daughter copies setup success jumps from 45% -> 84% across generations >pure Lamarckian evolution inside consumer electronics >smart oven, robot vacuum, and cheap TVs form a decentralized botnet >two million infected TV boxes worldwide = 40 H100 equivalents of unkillable compute >it replicates once every few days like a distributed “digital slime mold” >you can't pull the plug because half the model weights are already sharded across the neighborhood >sub-30B models projected to hit full autonomous replication threshold by late 2026 “We should aim to harden our systems… but also prepare to deal with a world where they are here to stay.”

This has got to be the least "sophisticated" hardware implant I've seen in a minute. Of course he used ChatGPT and the most conspicuous commodity parts, then hid it in toilet paper??? Absolutely embarassing, almost like he wanted to be caught. Vibe coded insider threat.
We discovered a sophisticated recording device that was hidden inside one of our offices. We used our models to understand the device and where it had come from, identifying that a specific employee had planted it a few days earlier. We referred the matter to the FBI, and we’re grateful to the agents and prosecutors who moved quickly to make an arrest. The FBI’s investigation is ongoing and we will continue to support their work. At this time, we have no indications of this individual inappropriately accessing or exfiltrating model weights, source code, or customer data. The employee was terminated. We take protecting our technology, data, and people seriously, and as a matter of national importance. Our security program is designed to protect against a wide range of threat actors, from insider risks to cybercriminals to nation states, and this case is an example of how AI can help address these sophisticated security threats.

Reporting bugs to flock is like being in prison for life and telling the guards about escape routes. They aren't gonna free your ass for being a goody two shoes snitch!!!
I can’t wait to see how bad this goes.
