The term pregnancy is a death sentence is subjective. Why because even as much as technology has advanced and there are many things that can be taken charge of with healthcare however no one knows what can happen when they get pregnant because it can take an unexpected turn despite science and technology. While a woman choosing to getting pregnant does not mean she's subjecting herself to death however the bone of contention here is no one knows how their own pregnancy can be untill you go through it. So I do get your point about your take on it not being a death sentence in the actual word but the point women are trying to make is the journey itself can take an unexpected turn. Two truths can co exist. At the end of the day.. does it mean that I chose a death sentence every time I got pregnant.. no! but was it a risk..yes!
Dear Dr Mary, you have not made a conclusion in your statement. As someone who has some level of obstetric exposure. If you are asked by the AMERICAN or ROYAL BOARD... "Dr Mary, is Pregnancy a death sentence?" what will be your answer?... I can see you don't support MumZee, but that's beside the point... I'm asking you as a MEDICAL DOCTOR. You've made a broad statement here, cleverly without stating Pregnancy is a death sentence... but supporting the claim. You will go ahead to encourage more women to believe that notion. Except you believe Pregnancy is a death sentence. You made a statement "That shii hit a nerve in me…for the pregnant women that was brought in dead due to eclampsia, for the one we lost on the operating table and we all shed hot tears, for the ones that had to deal with post partum complications for the rest of the their lives…for myself and my pregnancy journey; the one that stayed and the one that messed me up so bad and still left…" Second Question: Does this talk about it being a death sentence or being high risk. Third Question: Is Malaria a death sentence. I lost my own younger sister to Malaria. Should I say Malaria is a death sentence? Answer these questions... no insults, just pure discussion.

I think health care professionals need to show a bit more restraint in wanting to be pedantic or 'correct' A person sharing the difficulty of their pregnancy on the social media isn't the time to be quoting all kinds of statistics they didn't ask you for

Follow Nutrition professionals for the accurate information about food!
Ranking amala, fufu, pounded yam and eba so low is actually wild If you're trying to lose weight, your main focus should be your soup and what goes into it. Keep your swallow portion moderate. Amala, fufu and eba are not the enemy. They provide nutrients, and properly processed, whole-fibre amala can be a good source of dietary fibre. You need to understand portions, balance your meals and be consistent.

Is breakfast the most important meal of the day ? Yes and No . Yes: if you have pcos, cancer, losing lots of weight, are sick, are a heavy lifter, a manual worker, someone who suffers hypoglycemia or someone who can’t function without eating in the morning. No: If you don’t function well when you eat breakfast. Will you be doing yourself harm if you eat breakfast ? NO! What you eat through the day matters much more than if you eat breakfast or not. Look at what works for you and don’t do follow follow

This! I’ll just carry mine alone because I can’t even shout😩
Apparently it’s not common knowledge that beauty blenders and puffs are single use products that should be disposed or given to each client after doing their makeup. Please always ask your makeup artist for new ones each time you get your makeup done.

There are things to consider and I explained here. For me personally, I have a bone structure that casts a shadow so I use a retinal eye cream, sleep properly and I use Suncreen around my eye area as well.
hey everyone, what are you using for your under eye dark circles?🥹

Nigerians thinking bill gates came to their country in 2025. Ho HO. He’s been in your country since 2000, funded your health care systems, the free HIV drugs at your PHC, malaria, polio eradication. Some of the vaccines you took as a child was funded by him So no it’s not sudden . He’s always been there. Educate yourself . gatesfoundation.org/our-work… roc-taiwan.org/ng_en/post/95…. It's crazy how how people call vitamins and minerals labelled with their botanical names on an ingredient label but same people can't go a day without vaping or smoking a cigarette 🙂‍↔️

Saying nutritionists shouldn’t be the only ones giving nutrition advice because we all eat food is like saying dentists shouldn’t talk about oral health because we all have teeth, or that we don’t need strategists because we can all think. Nutritionists study the human body and the science of nutrition to provide evidence-based recommendations tailored to individual needs. Dentists specialise in oral health and provide solutions specific to each patient. Strategists assess concerns from a professional perspective and develop tailored solutions. We all eat, but we don’t all understand nutrition. We all have teeth, but we’re not all dentists. We can all think, but we’re not all strategists. Familiarity with something is not the same as expertise in it.
