I thought I'd give Unreal C++ another go, maybe learn how to make a plugin or something...
... it uh, it derailed REAL HARD.
So I present: "Unreal running in #UnrealEngine5"
Thought I'd try using my tiny $20 Codex subscription to make Black and White in #VR, but I ended up just not having any fun, and the code is unreadable, and someone with a better subscription could probably one-shot it better.
Hopefully this eggs someone on to do it properly!
I got motion-bricks.cpp by @jichiep working in Godot on my Mac Mini M4, but by "working" I mean "it no longer crashes Godot".
I've messed up the deltas or something, because every time the character starts to walk, there's a little skip and a jump. Kinda cute actually.
I know I'm a bit pasty but when I went to the doctor and took my shirt off, all the instruments started glitching because of the RF interference from my skin reflecting the light.
That's what living in Scotland and Sweden does for ya!
If 4GB GPUs are coming back, well, thank goodness for all the low-poly single-texture assets that exist.
And with nanite, we can just add a bazillion vertex colour polygons for textures, easy!

I did love the Virtua series of games though, so I'm set.
This is a simulated 3D printer, using real Marlin firmware running on a virtual Arduino.
8 years ago I had an idea for a "new" type of 3D printer, so I wrote this simulator harness for it.
Got to 90% and ran out of steam.
Caved and got Codex to complete it for me, yes, boo hiss
It uses the awesome "simavr" and "SDL" libraries, even has a virtual serial port.
In the video I posted it's running the latest Marlin configured for a Creality CR10.
Not proud of using AI to finish it, but I couldn't be arsed and I'd rather have a finished personal project.
I "ported" @runevision's beautiful terrain shader to Godot and threw some prototype Desert Strike helicopter action in there to figure out how to get collisions working and stuff.
Think I'd prefer a Cannon Fodder game more though...

'member when internet browsers had status bars? And really cool sites would display constantly scrolling ASCII art like waves and progress bars? And you couldn't turn it off no matter how hard you tried? <blink> twice if you remember.
Whenever I get stressed I do dumb things for relief, this week's comes in the form of the Godot GDExtension interface ported to Pascal.
It's rather delightful being able to compile the whole shebang instantly with just `fpc extension.pas`

So, around the same time, I ordered some Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut CPU paste -and- separately some silver glue.
Both come in a little syringe tube.
I can't find my silver glue tube.
Well, my CPU temps -look- okay, I guess...
Okay, the "new" YouTube UI has been around long enough now, someone PLEASE fix the fact that keyboard shortcuts for e.g., changing the playback speed don't work on it.
And if the volume magically remembered what level it was set to, that'd be amazing.
I don't think many things in life bring me more joy than watching an animal dream running and partying.
