Can't be overstated the extent to which these people think philosophy is simple and that they've figured it out. The reason they think they should have the power to shape AI, even as they warn it could kill everyone, is that they think they've cracked morality for the first time.

Cornell University police condensed a former student's interview into a 6-page document that OMITTED her explicitly stating, "I can say with 100% confidence I was raped".
The Tompkins County DA said his office relied on this condensed 6-page file when making the decision not to press charges. He says he hadn't seen the full interview transcript.
Cornell knew what they were doing by leaving that off the summary. They wanted to sweep this under a rug. It looks like a conspiracy to cover up felony sex crimes to protect their reputation.
