Life is far too short and fleeting. Tell the people you care about that you love them today. 🤍

We're having a very colorful celebration for Disney Legend Tyrus Wong's 116th birthday! 🎨 Wong was instrumental in determining the look and feel of Walt Disney's "Bambi" (1942), which celebrates its 85th anniversary next year.

✨Main Street, U.S.A. didn't work for Shanghai. Why? Chinese guests had no nostalgia for 1900s America—most meeting Disney for the very first time. So we created Mickey Ave to welcome a new audience into the story! Proud to play a part in this magic. #Disney #history #美美与共

On this date 59 years ago, Walt Disney's classic animated feature film "The Jungle Book" (1967) was released. "The Jungle Book" was a hit with audiences, critics, and at the box office—so much for "monkey business." 🐒
Walt Disney's "The Jungle Book" scene with three characters swinging on vines in a lush jungle. Two animated monkeys and a human character in red shorts appear playful and lively. The Walt Disney Family Museum logo is visible in the corner.

✨Although in very early years cels were washed & reused, what you are actually seeing here are “animation cycles” (the underlying movement) being reused, not cels. Scenes like this reused the movements, redrawn on brand-new cels with new characters. #Disney #animation #history

Hand-drawn animation is pain-staking work, so DISNEY would often re-use animation cells, as shown below. Credit: @cInemat0graphys

✨ A classic Carnation Cafe lunch! 🌸 Still miss seeing Chef Oscar making his rounds and bringing that extra bit of heart (and delicious food) to Main Street. Hope the legend is doing great! Who else still always looks for Chef Oscar? #Disney #Disneyland #history

✨News: Paramount Studios is taking over the Bay Theater in Palisades Village and will show first run movies from all studios. On Aug 3 I mused if WB would be next. But Paramount & WB have merged under Skydance. So was I correct or nah? 🎬📽️🎞️ #Hollywood #film #movies

✨Huge win for LA film culture. Also a look at modern studio mechanics: exhibition isn't owning chains anymore, it's about cultural landmarks as flagship brand anchors. Disney: El Capitan Netflix: Egyptian Sony: Cinerama Dome Universal: CityWalk WB up next? #film #history
