ALT Critical natural assets are the natural & semi-natural ecosystems providing 90% of current levels of nature's contributions to people. This figure shows critical natural assets for local benefits (optimized at the country scale), including: nitrogen retention, sediment retention, pollination, fodder production for livestock, timber production, fuelwood production, flood regulation, access to nature (for recreation & gathered products), riverine fish catch, marine fish catch, coral reef tourism, & coastal risk reduction. Climate regulation benefits were included in a separate analysis (optimized at the global scale).
