Jean Chrétien just gave the Trump administration the Shawinigan Handshake without laying a finger on anyone.
91 years old. Still sharper than half the people in the room.
While they’re trying to rename a 400-year-old lake “Lake America,” the former Prime Minister looked straight at the camera and said they’re doing it because they’ve run out of arguments.
Cheap. Nasty. Weak.
That’s not strategy. That’s a tantrum.
Canada doesn’t need to yell. We just need one old guy from Shawinigan to quietly remind them:
Lake Ontario isn’t suffering.
It’s a lake.
And neither are we.
Still standing.
Still Canadian.
Still Lake Ontario.

Chapman's Ice Cream has just done something EVERY Canadian should know.
The largest ice cream company in Canada used to source fruit and nuts from American suppliers — for some, for over 30 years. Then, Trump imposed a 25% tariff on Canadian products.
So, what did Chapman's do?
📷 They called Italy.
📷 They called Spain.
📷 They signed multi-year contracts with European suppliers.
And the vice president said it perfectly:
"Even if Trump wakes up smarter than yesterday, we're about to sign long-term deals with other countries — and the American companies that supply them will have nothing but their eyes to cry for."
Oh, and on top of ALL that? They're COLDing their prices so that the average Canadian doesn't have to spend a single cent more.
It's a family business. No shareholders. Just the Chapman family saying: "The least we can do is make sure Canadians still have the means to buy ice cream."
That's what Canadian pride looks like.
Next time you're at the grocery store — grab some Chapman's.
Every scoop of ice cream is a vote for Canada.

Hey @NateHornerAB @Alberta_UCP do Albertans need to look in the mirror? Call an election on that @nenshi @albertaNDP
I am not a @liberal_party supporter but as long as the @CPC_HQ opposition under @PierrePoilievre acts like immature, petulant and undisciplined children they have lost my support. I don’t blame anyone for jumping off that ship. Act like a government in waiting.
Dear @CityofEdmonton @AndrewKnack . Today I witnessed something special. On the corner of 104th St and 102 ave a person in a wheelchair was struggling to cross the street. A road worker saw this and provided assistance. Well done 👍 Please share this with your team 🙏
I hope your snow removal team has enjoyed their winter break while we're all suffering. We pay property taxes for snow removal and not when it's convenient for the city. This is the worst snow removal to date and yet taxes keep going up. DO BETTER
Parking ban starts tomorrow, January 12th, as snow plows start clearing residential neighbourhoods.
Please ensure your vehicle is moved so our crews can do their job.

From 35+ years experience in the hospitality industry most ‘Canadian Youth’ do not apply for these jobs. They are above the work and yet complain about the lack of opportunities. I wish the main stream media and political parties would be more honest about this.

"I didn’t see a snow plow during my drive, are City crews working?"
That’s a question I occasionally get asked and the answer is yes.
Instead of driving around to try and find our City crews, you can see them using the @CityofEdmonton’s online map. They are working 24/7 every single day. Yes, they were even busy working on Christmas Day.

Hey @AndrewKnack if you're proposing a property tax increase then also propose a reduction to the Mayor's and Councillors salaries @CityofEdmonton @yegwave . Join everyone in the hurt
JUST GO AWAY…YOUR TIME IS OVER. THE DAMAGE THAT YOU CAUSED IS LONG LASTING. DO NOT DO ANY FURTHER DAMAGE. LET THE ADULT FIX YOUR PROBLEMS.
Ten years ago today, Canadians chose a more hopeful path.
I’ll never forget that night in 2015. The energy, the optimism, and the belief that together, we could build a better future.
A decade later, we’ve lifted hundreds of thousands of people out of poverty, strengthened and grown the middle class, built a $10-a-day child care system, led the fight against climate change, advanced reconciliation, and made Canada more inclusive and fair for everyone.
I’m deeply grateful to everyone who was part of this journey and believed that better is always possible. 🇨🇦
JUST GO AWAY…YOU’VE DONE ENOUGH DAMAGE. YOUR TIME IS UP!
Four years ago, we set out with a vision: to build an Edmonton for all of us. A city full of joy, opportunity and hope, a place where everyone can feel like they belong, where services are accessible and fair. And an anti-racist Edmonton, because I believe that true inclusion must be intentional.
Thank you to Edmontonians, partners and stakeholders. From non-profits to community organizations, businesses and cultural institutions. Together we tackled emergency housing, homelessness, reconciliation, anti-racism, transit, safety, downtown revitalization, climate action, public spaces and more.
What we accomplished together:
▪️More than doubled our shelter capacity and improved standards of care for our most vulnerable neighbours.
▪️We worked to secure funding and forge relationships with the province in downtown investment, new police officers, more funding for Homeward Trust, and finally - we got the Province to pay their taxes.
▪️We made public safety a priority, expanding Transit Peace Officers and building crisis diversion teams that make an incredible difference every day.
▪️We advanced reconciliation, Indigenous-led housing, and anti-racism initiatives because justice and equity are intentional and now foundational parts of our government.
▪️We enhanced our parks, revitalized recreation access, and reimagined downtown vibrancy, showing the world the beauty and the power of Edmonton on the world stage.
Each of these successes, are about more than just line items on a report. These are lives changed for the better. Policies only matter when they represent the people they serve.
I am deeply proud of our work with Indigenous leaders and communities. Together, we have signed historic memorandums of understanding with multiple nations including MOUs on Indigenous housing. The City of Edmonton is more committed to reconciliation than ever.
I am confident in Edmonton's capacity to care for one another, to rise to new challenges, and to continue to build a city where everyone belongs.
If I leave you with anything, know that this was the privilege of my life to serve my community as your Mayor, and I am deeply grateful for all the support and progress we have made together.
Hey @AndrewScheer @CPC_HQ @PierrePoilievre @PnPCBC If the Conservatives can't change their tone I will NEVER vote CPC again. They are a joke except I'm not laughing
I'm having a hard time listening to Cabinet Ministers who used to speak @JustinTrudeau now try to speak @MarkJCarney @liberal_party. It's completely fake, unbelievable and insincere. Carney would be better off with new voices and not the same old voices IMHO
Hey @grok who was the most famous person to look at my account. Just give me a name.
