That's why we are building DigiRobotics
Robotics has a teleoperation problem.
Teleoperation used to be the only way to collect high quality demonstrations to post-train your robot. There was no way around the slow task completion speed (often 5x slower than a person!) and $100+/hr operation cost.
That's not the case anymore. We're proving, along with Sunday, Generalist, Reward, Chestnut, and more, that collecting data directly from people wearing sensorized backpacks, caps, and gloves produces data that is not only much cheaper, but better than teleoperation data once you put in the good old-fashioned engineering. Unlike egocentric video, this kind of system turns people’s hands into robot look-alikes with grippers, mitts, or gloves that match the kinematics, contact surfaces, and sensing of the robot hand so it can be used for post-training.
At @dreamrobotics_ , we take sensorized human data a step beyond. Our wearable is intuitive and dexterous, so much so that workers in real businesses can collect data on the job. Plus, patent-pending tactile, spatial sensors (lidar), and 4K HDR cameras give the robots information that no one else is collecting. We do this all in a one-pound backpack that costs less than $400 total, less than the cost of a single Insta360 camera, which we could only achieve by building our own edge computers, tactile sensors, and cameras.
Huge shout-out to my team for making this possible!

BYD wants two or three humanoid robots in every showroom, helping sell its cars.
Stella Li laid out the goal in a June interview: explain the vehicles, demonstrate features and work alongside human salespeople.
Now a newly published Chinese design patent gives us a closer look at BYD’s humanoid project, following its “Xiao Di” teaser in July.
HKUST also lists a BYD-funded research project on vision-language-action robots specifically for car dealerships.
That’s close to XPENG’s positioning for IRON: start with a clear job in their own showrooms, helping sales staff explain and demonstrate the cars. BYD already has the vehicles, dealer network and customer traffic to test the idea.
For automakers, this is a way to get an early start in robotics through the business they already run. The value doesn’t depend on big labor savings from day one.

Researchers at Shanghai Innovation Institute have enabled the Unitree G1 humanoid to pull a passive rickshaw while maintaining balance through turns, starts, and stops.
It handled a combined passenger-and-rickshaw mass of up to 115 kg, more than three times its own weight.
Trained in simulation, the robot adapts to different loads without retuning.

🚨 CHINA ACCELERATES ITS “ARTIFICIAL SUN” DEVELOPMENT
China has reportedly completed a superconducting magnet for nuclear fusion weighing 582 tonnes and measuring 21 metres in length
It is described as having 1.3 times the volume and three times the stored energy of the ITER magnet. It is a key component that uses a powerful magnetic field to confine plasma at temperatures of around 100 million°C
Nuclear fusion aims to reproduce the Sun’s energy-generating process on Earth. If successfully commercialized, it could significantly influence the competition for power in the AI era
But there is something they do not know.
Countries that did not obtain the approval of the United States and shadow powers in matters of energy, defense, and finance have always perished.

Chinese astronomers have discovered a rare compact binary system in which the pulsar, PSR J1928+1815, orbits within the outer layers of its companion, a helium star with about 1 to 1.6 times the sun's mass, with an orbital period of 3.60 hours. The discovery, using the country's Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST), marks an important finding for astronomy research.

A new study led by Chinese scientists is offering fresh and crucial clues to help unravel a perplexing question: why has star formation clearly slowed today compared with the early universe?
Using China's Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST) together with the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI), a global project involving more than 70 institutions, the researchers conducted high-precision measurements of neutral hydrogen evolution in the universe over the past 4.5 billion years.
Their work, published Tuesday in the international journal Nature Astronomy, suggests that stars are mainly born within denser molecular gas clouds. As the overall cosmic gas density drops, the efficiency of converting neutral hydrogen into molecular hydrogen decreases accordingly, causing the molecular gas that can directly incubate stars to gradually diminish.

China's Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST), the world's largest single-dish radio telescope, will mark the 10th anniversary of its inauguration on September 25. Since its launch, the facility has achieved a series of landmark scientific and technological breakthroughs:
- To date, FAST has discovered more than 1,300 pulsars, which is far more than the combined number found by all other radio telescopes worldwide over the same period.
- Based on the observation data from FAST, researchers have published 13 papers in the main editions of international scientific journals Science and Nature.

How do you build a telescope for particles that can pass straight through Earth? You turn a billion tonnes of Antarctic ice into the detector.
IceCube, the observatory behind Francis Halzen’s Nobel-winning work, has 5,160 light sensors frozen deep beneath the South Pole. Spread through a cubic kilometre of ice, they wait for an encounter that almost never happens.
Most neutrinos pass through unnoticed. Occasionally, one interacts with an atom, producing charged particles that race through the ice faster than light travels through ice. This does not break Einstein’s speed limit. Light slows down in ice.
Those particles emit a faint glow called Cherenkov light. By measuring which sensors light up, when they do, and how much light they receive, researchers estimate the neutrino’s energy and arrival direction.
The enormous detector gives these elusive particles more matter to interact with. The clear, deep ice lets their light reach the sensors.
Because neutrinos have no electric charge, cosmic magnetic fields cannot bend their paths. Their arrival directions can help trace the distant environments that produced them.
So, buried kilometres underground, IceCube watches the universe through tiny flashes in the dark. A marvel of modern science.
