INEC faces backlash over ‘AI-generated photos, names of deceased persons’ in voters’ register The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is facing criticism over irregularities in the voters’ register after citizens flagged duplicate entries and suspected AI-generated photographs. The electoral umpire published an updated register of voters on Monday, following calls for broader public access ahead of the 2027 general election. Hours later, citizens began raising concerns about discrepancies in the data. A NEW AND PRODUCTIVE NIGERIA IS POSSIBLE, AND NIGERIA WILL BE OK Yesterday, 26th of October, our Party, the NDC Campaign council was inaugurated in Abuja. As part of my remarks, I told Nigerians how our richly endowed nation, the giant of Africa, is now the world’s poverty capital. Regrettably, over 140 million Nigerians are multidimensionally poor, representing more than 60% of the population. Corruption remains widespread, while insecurity affects every part of our country. Unemployment and inequality are at record levels, and Nigerians face severe and avoidable hardship. Even with the removal of the fuel subsidy and reckless borrowing, with a debt of over ₦165 trillion, there has been little or no corresponding increase in productivity. In the last three years, President Tinubu has foisted on Nigeria a reign of corruption and duplicity, resulting in extreme poverty. Today, President Tinubu has made history as the leader who has created the largest number of poor people in the world. This year, he has made about 16 million Nigerians extremely poor. Just last Saturday, President Tinubu, while launching his re-election campaign in Kaduna, blamed past and opposition leaders for the hunger and poverty that have ravaged Nigerians. What is clear is that President Tinubu does not have the competence, the capacity, the character, compassion or the commitment to solve the problems he created. He lacks the energy and the resolve to get Nigeria out of the current worsening crisis. Under President Tinubu, despite his promise to fix electricity, Nigeria now has the lowest consumption of electricity. Without reliable power, businesses cannot expand efficiently, hospitals cannot provide dependable services, schools struggle to operate effectively, and households face additional financial burdens. We will pursue an electricity reform programme focused on reliability, affordability, investment, and accountability. We will work with relevant federal and state institutions, regulators, operators, and investors to address the weaknesses affecting generation, transmission, and distribution. Under President Tinubu, Nigeria is more divided than ever, more terrorised than ever and more insecure than ever. Under President Tinubu, Nigeria has fallen into a crisis of values, such that our budgets are no longer credible and our laws are forged. Nothing is sacred. Nothing is spared from degradation, not budgets, not laws, not institutions. From our engagements with Nigerians across the country and all segments of society, the message is clear: Nigerians want and deserve a better, more productive nation, one in which good governance is visible, firmly established, effectively practised and embraced as part of our national culture. I, Peter Obi, with my very dear elder brother, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, implore and beckon all of you, committed members of our great party, the NDC, and all Nigerians, to join us in this crusade of rebuilding our dear and most endowed nation, Nigeria. Today, we begin a renewed journey towards a New Nigeria, united by shared purpose, founded on fairness, justice and equity, and committed to productivity, inclusion and development. We envision a nation where government prioritises the security and welfare of its people, good governance prevails, and public officials remain accountable. It will be a law-abiding society of healthy, skilled and educated citizens, where every child attends school and learns to read and write. No Nigerian should live in a displaced-persons camp, and corruption must no longer weaken our institutions or the fabric of our nation. A New Nigeria is our vision. A New Nigeria is our mission. Corruption today has become more pervasive under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s APC-led government. No state institution has been spared, and since 2023, its effects have spread throughout national life.

THE LIE OF “FORTIFIED” FOODS Obiageli bought “fortified custard.” Big label. Big adverts. But hear me: real food does not need fortification. Yam doesn’t beg you with vitamin stickers. Beans doesn’t need adverts. Plantain no get marketing department. Cornstarch, on the other hand, is empty like a politician’s promise. They strip it of nutrients, sprinkle lab-made vitamins, colour it yellow, and call it healthy. It’s sugar in disguise. Engineered to spike your blood sugar and keep you addicted. Real food doesn’t shout “buy me.” It just nourishes you. Avoid cornstarch like a bad ex: sweet on the tongue, deadly in the long run. Don’t forget to reach out for a well-structured meal plan. Share and tag your friends.

I don’t understand why, as an adult, you’re still settling for cereal. Are you a baby? You wake up. Pour flakes in a bowl. Add milk. Call it breakfast. And deep down, you’re still hungry. Because what you just ate isn’t a meal. It’s baby food. Refined. Sweet. Easy to chew. Comfort for your inner child. Starvation for the grown adult. Let me give you the real breakdown: Cereal is 70% sugar, 20% marketing, and 10% sadness. It spikes your blood sugar. Crashes your energy. Leaves your hormones screaming for real food by 10am. It doesn’t care about your stress, fertility, energy, digestion, or sleep. It just knows you’re chasing comfort and it exploits it. But you are not a child anymore. You don’t need colored loops. You need minerals. You need protein. You need fat for your brain. You need fuel—not flakes. Eat like an adult. – Trade cornflakes for boiled eggs and avocado – Add sardines, okro soup, yam, or native rice to your morning – Blend tigernuts + coconut + dates instead of sugary milk – Respect breakfast, it sets your cortisol and blood sugar for the day Because cereal isn’t just a poor meal. It’s a trauma blanket for adults who were never taught nourishment. You don’t need food that hugs your mouth. You need food that holds your body. Struggling with belly fat, fatigue, hormones, or food confusion? Reach out for a well-structured meal plan that heals, fits your life, and actually works.

Authorities Must Investigate Inciting Izala March Drill Video The Nigerian authorities immediately and independently investigate a viral inciting video of teenagers and children participating in marching drills led by adult coordinators wearing uniforms associated to Jama’atu Izalatu Bidi’a wa’iqamatus-Sunnah (JIBWIS) The marchers were chanting slogans asking to be handed “AK-47 to attack Christians on a Sunday in Enugu and Jos….” The slogans are a vicious display of children being manipulated and indoctrinated with religious violence and hatred. The authorities must investigate the instructors of the drill, examine the source, location, and contents of the video footage and review the curricula used during these youth activities. The organization behind these activities most be held to account. Authorities must also ensure that minors involved in these programmes are protected from radicalisation and provided appropriate psychological and educational support, while holding accountable any individuals or religious groups founding and using children to promote intolerance and encouraging infringement of religious freedom. Protecting children from exposure to hateful rhetoric, militarised drills, and extreme indoctrination is an obligation of the state under national and international law. Under the Child Rights Act and international human rights frameworks, including the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, children have an absolute right to protection from exposure to violence, hate speech, and recruitment or training in paramilitary activities. Using structured youth programmes or religious training groups to instil hostile ideologies compromises the safety of children and undermines freedom of religion.
