Beware of the psychopaths.
While in Congress, it was not unusual for me to meet government personnel who showed signs of psychopathology.
In a system of government that irrationally clings to pure democracy (i.e., the majority, urged on by the elite) the elite can very easily victimize the majority.
The process is accomplished by false, and very grand, promises that the majority readily accept.
Such a system is not uncommon throughout history. It has always led to moral and financial bankruptcy; along with a steady increase in violence.
Liberty, sound money, and non-intervention in the affairs of foreign nations offer the solution.
In other words, the policies of our nation's founding.

When the government opens back up, we should leave the Department of Education shuttered and return those tax dollars to the states.
Since it was formed in 1980, no aspect of education has improved. My bill, HR 899, would implement President Trump’s stated goal of abolishing it.

President Trump has decided that it's "Empire First" rather than "America First."
The two are not the same, at all.
"Empire First" means continuing the endless wars that have nothing to do with America. It means bailing out Argentina at the expense of American farmers and taxpayers. It means, trying to keep the idea alive that every inch of the planet must be under the thumb of the U.S. federal government.
This ideology has been running on fumes for decades.
The question with Donald Trump was "Can we pivot back to 'America First' before total bankruptcy hits?"
That was the promise and hope. President Trump has broken that promise.

Libertarians need to recognize that the pro-state extremists on the left and the right are not our allies.
We stand with millions of Americans who want to make decisions for their own lives, free from the dictates and abuses of real or aspiring socialists and fascists.

Note that the context here is about “misusing power,” and @JDVance is saying that it’s fine to misuse power, and that Republicans shouldn’t care about the precedent.
If your vision is to make America more like the shittiest places on earth, then that’s a great way to achieve it.

.@RepThomasMassie is right.

People still wonder, what was Iraq War II about, since we know it was not about unconventional weapons or ties to Osama bin Laden's network?
Israel. The neocons were trying to save Israel a nickle per barrel of oil by putting compliant Shi'ites in power who would tell Hezbollah to stop being friends with Iran and leave Israel alone, and rebuild the old pipeline to Haifa.
Here's 30 articles about it. You should consider reading all of them.

It's been a little while since I've had a day where the rightwingers in my mentions were worse than the liberals.

I’ll say it again.
It is unconstitutional for Pres. Trump to engage in acts of war in Yemen.
It doesn’t matter how appropriate you think it is for the U.S. to take on Houthis or terrorists or anyone.
Congress has not authorized war in Yemen. Engaging in war there is unlawful.

Here’s a social experiment I recently ran on X:
These two posts from me are identical in every way but one. Same subject, similar circumstances, less than three months apart.
But the engagement—especially the replies—couldn’t be more different.
Can you spot the difference?

I don’t want the U.S. government anywhere near cryptocurrencies. These currencies exist to provide competition and alternatives to the dollar, but the government is poised to control and exploit them as additional avenues for the state to manipulate money and redistribute wealth.
Is everyone else seeing this? So overt, out in the open?

This is apparently their attempt to address that 🤣
