Today is an opportunity to recognize and reflect on the rich traditions, cultures, experiences and heritage of First Nation, Inuit, and Métis peoples and celebrate their achievements and contributions to our province and country.
For #Creators we are showcasing @littlemsottawa, who has included us in her Perth guide (and she took this pic!). Want to check it out? Find it on her blog and over at PERTH.ca/TOURISM

Thank you @beth_halfkenny! Yes, we have Climactichinites on display in the mineral gallery, too! The third floor is closed for repainting at the moment, but we will reopen the gallery soon. #perthproud q
Shout out to this fine specimen of Climactichnites, fossil tracks of a mollusc, first discovered by Perth Ontario’s Dr.James Wilson, physician and amateur geologist, friend and advisor to William Logan on the minerals to be found in the Ottawa region. @perthmuseum
In light of current COVID-19 measures, the Perth Museum and Visitor Information Centre will be closed for the month of January.
We hope that we will be able to reopen in February. Further updates will be posted here.
Perth Museum's own Debbie Sproule was interviewed by @tvo recently for the Roadside Attractions series. You can read all about the Mammoth Cheese monument here: tvo.org/article/roadside-att…
We have a small #MammothCheese exhibit in the Visitor Information Centre and we reopen our doors by appointment on Thursday! And/or, check out the life size replica at the Tay Basin. #perthproud
This 22,000-pound #MammothCheese from @PerthOntarioCan was designed to promote Canadian cheese at the Chicago World's Fair in 1893. Most of the original cheese was eaten (of course), but a small slice is preserved at @perthmuseum.
I see your lion sampler @BytownMuseum and agree it's on point, but have you seen our kitty in the kitchen? She loves basking in the sunlight and soaking up the heat from the fire. #BestCat #CuratorBattle
This lion sampler made by little Sarah Foster in 1849 is pretty on point (get it, needlepoint? sorry) considering she'd never seen one before! Rawr! 🦁
