The Odd Bollard located on Kings Cross Road is a fascinating piece of local history situated near the junction of Calthorpe Street.
It is uniquely made from two 19th-century cast-iron bollards fused together side-by-side to create a single wide, flat barrier.
It features two distinct shields. The left shield is inscribed StPPM for St Pancras Parish Middlesex, and the right shield is marked CV for the Clerkenwell Vestry.
Dating back to 1886, a physical boundary line is carved right across its domed top and down the sides to represent the exact historical turning point between the two old parishes.
The bollard sits directly on the borough line that still divides modern-day Camden and Islington. It is Grade II listed for preservation.

There's a certain satisfaction that comes from a weary feeling in your legs as you wend your way along the country lanes after a long day, with the sun setting over the hills ahead and lighting up the leaves. In the air I could smell woodsmoke and autumn, the only sounds the sheep and birds and my own footsteps, heavy with a quiet tiredness, knowing I'd earned a fire, a good book and a lot of cheese.

โI think there are two ways in which people are controlled. First of all, frighten people & secondly demoralise them. An educated, healthy and confident nation is harder to govern.โ
