People don't really understand that if a person is loyal to you, it's because of their character and morals, not because you are special

I think the internet has made people deeply uncomfortable with the idea of being ordinary, and I think being ordinary is one of the greatest privileges of being alive.

understd, I wish students would use AI to learn more effectively. This year alone, AI helped me understand 3 research papers in a fraction of the time. Discussing ideas with AI isn’t much different from asking a lecturer. Frankly, I think lecturers are more at risk than students.

I was there a while back and have graduated. But yes, that's how it has been and quite frankly its sometimes feels like an insult. But I'll be happy with the fact knowing that whilst doing work you've put in real effort and for that, it's worth getting that Masters.

Good point. I just finished masters at USM. Saw many local working adults using AI to build decks & prep 4 presentations. Most never mastered the actual lessons. Just read from AI generated answers.

It's funny when Abdul El-Sayed responds gracefully with humor when asked if he supports sharia law, with something cute like no, I support shawarma law or Shakira law.
And it's also sad.
Because making Muslim people disavow sharia law is uniquely dehumanizing. Nobody asks Catholics to disavow canon law because some abused it to protect priests who harm children or for slavery. Almost nobody's asking Jews to denounce halakha, because IOF soldiers justify taking homes with it, and worse. Never heard someone tell a Hindu to denounce dharma because some have abused it as cover for racist population transfers, or a Buddhist to condemn vinaya for "compassionate violence" against "less human" people.
Sharia to a Muslim is the same as these beliefs. It describes when to fast and pray, how to marry, how to repair harm, etc. The only serious subsection of the religious in the US who want to replace democracy with faith-based law, are right wing Christians. And they're very close to doing it. They're also the ones feeding you lies about sharia while they do it, if you're paying attention.
