I have to admit, I’m feeling a bit shaken up today. Normally, when the TERFs come for me, I can brush it off and carry on. But when the abuse turns into threats, with people saying they’ll find out where I live, it becomes personal, and it’s genuinely unsettling. All I’m doing is standing up for my trans brothers, sisters. I’m defending people who deserve the same dignity, respect and equality as everyone else. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. What I find so sickening is the venom some people are willing to spew without even trying to understand another person’s experiences or show a little compassion. Sometimes, it feels like there’s simply no reasoning with these people. No matter what you say, they refuse to listen, and that’s where the feeling of futility creeps in. But I refuse to let intimidation silence me. Trans people deserve to live their lives in safety, free from hatred, discrimination and fear. I will continue to stand alongside them, because doing what’s right shouldn’t come at the cost of your own peace of mind. You don’t have to agree with everyone, but you should always be able to disagree without resorting to threats and intimidation. Hate will never win through silence. I stand with the trans community today, tomorrow and always. 🏳️‍⚧️❤️
