Diet Coke has been nicknamed the 'fridge cigarette' online, and Coca-Cola CEO Henrique Braun has heard about it.
In a recent interview with Yahoo Finance, he acknowledged the nickname but made it clear that Coca-Cola doesn't market the drink that way. Instead, the company focuses on its taste and the connection consumers have with it.
Interestingly, Diet Coke sales volume rose 6% globally in the third quarter of 2026.
But here's the bigger question, are people simply enjoying the drink, or are some becoming emotionally dependent if not addicted,to that little can of fizz?
