If you change the name of something like "Gulf of Mexico," everyone will use the new name. Just ask anyone on Twitter.

A very disturbing trait of narcissists, typically those with strong envy and psychopathic tendencies, is their ability to mimic the people they envy while simultaneously trying to destroy them.
Often called mirroring, where a narcissist mimics someone else's personality, mannerisms, interests, and even life choices. This isn’t done out of admiration but rather out of a need to consume that person’s identity and then replace them. It’s almost like psychological identity theft.
At the same time, they seek to undermine the original person through gaslighting, lies, and smear campaigns. They attack the very person they are copying, trying to break their confidence and make them question their own identity.
By eliminating the original they ”take ownership” of the traits they are mimicking.
It is profoundly disturbing when you witness someone doing this to you.

Anita Ekberg was a Swedish actress who was also a trained archer and knew how to box. In 1960, she had a remarkable encounter with the paparazzi.
After warning them to leave her alone repeatedly, she beat one up. Undeterred, they continued to follow her. She retrieved a bow and arrow from her car.
Warned them one last time. And she… shot one of them with an arrow.
Anita Ekberg wasn’t bothered by paparazzi again. The La Dolce Vita star eventually lived to be 83, dying in 2015 in Rome.

Polyamory Tip: Jealousy borne of unmet needs is not the same as jealousy borne of possessiveness and malice. If you find yourself jealous because a partner or partners are neglecting your needs, this doesn't mean you're selfish. It means you're hurting.

For some reason, in type 1 and type 2 diabetes, society thinks they have the right to comment and lecture us. It’s not like this in most other diseases — we don’t feel entitled to telling people with other diseases how to live.

Keith Haring died of AIDS aged 31 on 16 Feb 1990.
His last piece of art, Unfinished Painting, was deliberately incomplete, reflecting the devastating, unquantifiable loss to the arts due to AIDS.

KIDDING
As writers, we need to know we are writers on days we don’t have the energy to get to our manuscript
We are writers when we have less than 1,000 followers
We are writers when no one reads our work
We are writers because it’s who we are.
We have stories in our souls, and our heart is meant to share them 💜

I can't think of anyone in a worse position to criticise me for supposedly "not making sense." Not a single person.

I have seen a number of posts defending JH because he was “clearly communicating his boundaries.” Let me share my story with you.
I dated a guy for 3 years who slowly stripped away my freedoms in exchange for “compromise” and “boundaries.”

People assume being in a triad is constant sexy times that are so much hotter with three people.
It's actually constantly sending each other memes that make one of you say, "What is *wrong* with you two?!"

One of my exes broke up with me in haiku using the magnetic poetry kit on my fridge. I called her afterward to tell her she got the syllable count wrong, and she told me she only counted the word “orgasm” once because she couldn’t finish one with me.
No notes, girl. You win.👏😆

Love the people who say teachers are indoctrinating their children. My dude, I can't even get your kid to stack his own chair at the end of the day. Trust and believe that he's not taking on my political viewpoints.

My son is 15
I never bought him a pride onesie when he was a baby.
I never read him a book that had two moms as part of the storyline.
When he was little stores and businesses didn’t have LGBTQ+ displays and we didn’t celebrate pride month.
He was raised Catholic, and went to church.
Guess what? He is gay.
The rainbow won’t make your kids gay. They are born that way. A display in a store won’t make your kid trans, they are born that way.
If you don’t love and accept them for who they are, YOU are a shitty parent.
They haven’t failed, you have.
