These sites popping up with drafts, orphaned, anonymous and unrevealed fics in conjunction with all the other data makes it all but certain that the reason why ao3 will be down so long is because they’re patching vulnerabilities and these sites are using that data
Hi, I know you're sick of hearing from me. I'm sick of hearing from me. This is important, so please stick with me. There has been some information added to the apology from "Ganesh". What I want to bring to everyone's attention is the source list 🧵/5

🐸: When I receive this kind of response, I feel very, very happy. As for the near future, I'm actually preparing my solo album. I've been recording all along. The recording is actually almost finished, but there's still a lot of music creation, creative work and album

I'm actually losing my mind. tweet: Don't steal or I won't share my work with you. quotes: How dare you say I'm not a real fan!! ???

yes I'm mad! I'm frustrated and I'm also right! You can't read or use your brains. You need every single little thing to have every single caveat you can think of, and when it inevitably doesn't you go "ha! fucking gotcha!!"

This is not the way people who claim to want to be in community with each other talk to one another!

we can't really be on day 6 of "maybe u guys should be nice to the writers whose fanfic u wanna read" discourse.

How you react to this tweet is a literacy test. This person explicitly says supporting fan artists and writers is participating. They’re saying those who DONT do that shouldn’t have a say in the work. That’s it!! No one can fucking read!
people who don't contribute anything to the fandom (don't create artwork, fics, or support writers and artists) do not deserve to have an opinion on how the work is shared, and at this point don't even deserve the access to any of it. this will kill all fandoms.

if you download fanfic someone made freely available just to repost or mass share it elsewhere without their consent i hope you get nothing but slop moving forward. some of you are mean and entitled and have zero respect for the people making fandom fun for you

the whole ao3 discourse is just exhibit number 3848 of how little people care about writers cause apparently mass sharing their fics without consent is fine but writers saying interactions are nice and encouraging makes them corporate villains somehow
"making fanfic transactional is a capitalist nightmare" when the transaction they're incensed about is someone saying "hey if you liked this thing I created it'd be nice if you mentioned that to me and who knows that might inspire me to make more things you like in the future"

The goalposts are going to continue to move, by the way. They’re all clinging to “there’s no way they got millions of fics from drives” because “shit, obviously this is an ongoing issue and all insecure sources of fic are likely part of the puzzle” would require self-reflection.
bro what the fuck are we doing. is this just life now

It's really this simple and basic. Some ppl out here melting down like toddlers over being told its polite to say thank you to the nice person holding the door open for you at the supermarket
fic authors sometimes spend years writing a story idk i think it’s fine if they would like some kudos or a comment here and there

It would be nice to be considered part of the community too. When we ask "hey can you please not reupload our work during this short break" we get thinkpieces like this calling us capitalistic clout chasers.
fandom artists and fic writers are getting entirely too much dip on their chip. you are not fandom aristocracy because you draw pictures or write fanfics. you are a fan in a community built around a shared interest, just like everybody else. please get over yourselves!

You can make as many intellectual sounding threads about fandom as a whole but at the end of the day you are justifying treating supposed members of your community like shit.

I Know you're all also subtweeting this post because you got mad before you stopped to read it. It makes you all look like you're justifying reposting by coming up with strawmen to distract from the real issue. If you didn't mean to do that, it's okay to admit you misread.
