I hope it’s made the likes of @jamiereuben and the rest of the hierarchy determined to get the last laugh.
You can’t publicly talk about becoming one of the biggest clubs in world football while being content to spend another summer as the punchline of everyone else’s jokes.
At some point, the ambition has to be reflected in the football operation. The perception only changes when the outcomes do.
