Over 50 organisations that work to prevent Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) have written to the government opposing the earned settlement proposals in their entirety, warning they would mark a significant escalation in state-sanctioned violence against Black, minoritised and migrant victim-survivors.
At this week’s Women and Equalities Committee session, I asked Dr Hannana Siddiqui from @SBSisters whether the government’s aim to halve VAWG is compatible with its earned settlement proposals.

このままイギリスにいつまでいるんだろうってずっと考えてるから、今回の永住権取得条件の改悪のおかげでさらに本帰国する勇気ををくれた😅私は2028年に5年ルールでも10年ルールでも永住権申請できるはずだったけど、これで心残りなく離れられるって思った。合法移民をこんな風扱う国には長く住めない
